So I've got a pile of 'stealers that I want to turn into a cult using the 4th ed. 'dex. What do folk think about the gunfexes being 'infected' sentinels, manned by cultists and armed with obvious Venom Cannons and Barbed Stranglers? Is there a better way to accomplish the same effect? Thanks!

I just thought about fexes upright walking with no head and a cultist instead in a semi hybrid flesh control chair. Some time ago there were a very good chaos cybot fex conversion on dakka maybe the builder could post this stuff again.

I've always liked the idea of a cyborg (i.e. semi-mechanical) tyranid army. So long as you can make the venom cannons etc look like they're live creatures burrowed into the Sentinels or whatever, it will be quite fluffy. Thought about your other units, e.g. raveners or gaunts or whatever?

I was thinking something like this:
Broodlord as Patriarch Magus (using Zoanthrope rules) (probably get an old magus fig) 4x6 Genestealers 2x Gunfexes (as stated above)
That's 1000 points or so. I'll probably use leaping, fisting ripper swarm rules for cultists and use either the gangers Kid Kyoto posted in N&R (the delaque-looking ones), delaque gangers, or a mix of catachan and zombie parts.

I love it!
The "counts as" themes are something else! Lots of imagination, and cool lists brought to life (sometimes, "back to life"!)...

Make sure the Magus is levitating himself. I, personally, think that would look awesome.
