Hi,

I lost interest in the game around the time the new Tau codex came out. I have around 2500 points worth of Tau models, however I eventually lost interest due to a few reasons:

I hated painting models... I have the artistic talent of a baboon, every model I tried to paint was just ruined to me. People didn't like the fact I had unpainted models so I just sprayed them black in the hope that one day I'd paint them.

My models always broke. The metal/plastic models like the broadsides were just a mess of layers of glue and paint because they couldn't go 5 minutes without breaking. They're just too fragile. I hope there is some way to remove the paint/glue but I doubt it.

I want to get back in the game, but one of the main reasons I stopped - money. They release the riptide battlesuits what looked awesome... but £60!?!? And what, they expect me to buy new broadside battlesuits to replace my old ones for £30 each!?

The thing I loved most was actually playing the game, but since the new codex came about, I didn't really know how to build the army anymore...

Can anyone help me out here? I want to get back into it but I'm finding motivation hard.

I'd suggest nipping down to you local on a quiet moment, Sunday afternoon or a weekday, and asking the staff to show you how the new structure works. They are (usually) well versed in explaining in a thorough and non patronising way to give a good grounding. They could show you which of your existing gear is still useable, and what you may want to consider getting.
Just remember the pinch of salt to sprinkle on their sales pitch.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
