Is it worth it to buy the old miniatures now? Or should I just start with the new stuff? I ask because I love Tyrion as a model, and always wanted to paint him. But If the new models are to different I wouldn't want an army that make no sense visually.

oh hell, absolutely keep with old models. It may be years before they get to all the races in the book, and no reason to ignore the old stuff.

I may do some new armies of old models on round bases for the fun of it, and because of how few models are needed now. I'll take a look at new stuff as it comes out.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

I'm building an army of Order out of the current dwarf, high elf, dark elf, and wood elf range. And that's with Elves and Dwarves probably being high on the list of things they'll change. I say go for it. Not like you can't use them in the game anyway.
