Good day everyone! I just stumble accross Infinity (been hearing about it a lot, but never actually look into it). Since I'm at work, I don't have as much access to the web as I have at home, hence the couple question I have (that I can't google :( )

1- Where are the rules, and in which format? Is it free distribution as PDF, or do I need a book? If it's a PDF, is it on their website?
2- How many models people usually use for a ''regular'' tournament game? It seem smaller in scale compared to 40k, but what should I go for? 5-10, 10-20, 20+?
3- How complex are the rule? Let's say I try to show a friend the game, usually I do a 500pts of 40k with a complete noob in about 2 hour (the first time) and they kind of gets most of the rules. How hard would it be to show a noob how to play Infinity?
4- How deep/important is the background story? Is the only fluff available in army book and core rulebook, or is there fluff somewhere else.
5- Is there Army book?
6- I saw that the terrain where basicly just box that you fold to make building. Do you need to buy those, or is there free blueprint available that I can print and cut myself? (I'm talking official blueprint, just to be clear)

I think that's all I have for now. The model seems really affordable and fun to paint, so it interest me a lot.
Thank you to whoever take the time to answer me.

1. All the rules are in PDF, available at their site.

2. 20 - 23 models. Two army lists are the norm for tournament play, usually somewhere between 15 - 20 per army list. You generally will need to replace few specialists (hacker, engineer, forward observer) with more heavy weapon profiles.

3. The rules are fairly simple. Move and shot or action-action, most of the complications will come from the interactions between special rules that each profile will tend to have. If you take plain profiles, for instance Alguacil against Zhanshi, the game will be easy and quick. The introduction missions from Icestorm gradually introduce more profiles into the game. Personally believe, if you have at least some mileage from table top wargames, you should be fine.

4. The story is rather simple. Action, sci-fi, euro-manga. The background is only available in "core book" with the rules being in the rule book.

5. There aren't any army books. You have various profiles that are scattered across various sources (core rulebook - N3, Human sphere). There is an online army builder, located on their official site.

6. I don't think there are official schematics available. You have it for containers and train (flat 2D version), but not for buildings. There could be some unofficial and generic somewhere.

So if I get the box Operation Icestorm, I don't have to buy anything else other than models? (At least until a new edition)

We are already in new edition (N3), I'm waiting for Human sphere update. I'd recommend getting another set of paper terrain, or if you prefer more paper containers. The Icestorm content isn't enough for 4' x 4' table.

Not sure what Human Sphere is. But Operation Icestorm is 3rd edition right?

Icestorm is completely third edition. Human sphere is add-on, similar to Warmachine and their expansion that introduces new profiles and rules.

I think they explain in it in this video. You don't need to watch all of it.
