Hi , I help as the 40K event organizer at Time Warp Comcs and Games in Cedar Grove. I would like to run a AOS tournament there in the next few months , and hopefully many more after that. I have been working with Attilla and some others on a points and comp system that I think have the potential to be a lot of FUN. If anyone is interested in play testing and getting in games to start up a AOS community please let me know. Thanks.
Anyone in area ??

Is AOS part of 40k? Either way, I may end up trying to join the Time Warp community considering I haven't been able to find any places near me in Central Jersey.

Meh, tournaments and point/comp systems miss the point of AoS entirely, and IMO will result in a more unbalanced game than if you actually play AoS the way its meant to be played.

AoS isn't my thing, but if you are in New Jersey near Time Warp you should really make best friends with Haldir. He runs good tournaments and just loves to get people playing the game and having fun.

Nice odonnel, im in monmouth county too man. Pm me if you wanna try amd work something out. There are a couple good game stores to meet up at in the area. And thats the best thing about AOS tho. You cant come up with a fair system between both players. Automatically Appended Next Post: Ooo ok i get your comment now omega.

I know Time Warp hosts tournaments regularly, Im there almost every Monday and Thursday (and sometimes other days), but the idea of 40k and Fantasy/AoS tournaments does nothing for me. I used to play in them regularly, Games Day tournies, Ard Boyz, and Team tournaments, but now I look at the system and compare it to say Warmachine/Hordes, Malifaux, or Infinity and I simply dont see the appeal, as 40k is the farthest thing possible from a balanced tournament tight ruleset. Attempts to balance the rules by TOs using comp and faqs usually just anger me as IMO it never really balances anything at all, and often times only serves to punish specific builds/factions, and by extension people.
As for AoD the way its meant to be done is two people show up at a store with their collections and agree to play a game. They might decide to limit the game in size by x number of warscrolls with no more than y number of wounds, or perhaps limit it to x number of warscrolls of type y, or what have you. The two players then alternate placing their warscrolls (as in player 1 0lqces his warwcroll 1, player 2 places his warscroll 1, player 1 places his warscroll 2 etc) until complete. If both players know what they are doing and have access to suitably diverse model collections, the end result should be two very closely balanced forces

I dont care about tourneys really, i just wanna have fun, sounds lame but i wouldbe terrible in a tourney. The models are great so far amd i enjoy putting them together. What are some good fantasy tourney games ?

Depends on how you define fantasy. Warmachine and Hordes are arguably the pinnacle of competitive play miniatures games, but theyre not your traditional fantasy. A bunch of us at time warp are getting into Wrath of Kings which I think has serious potential as a balanced and competitive ruleset, bit it has more in common with Warmahordes and Age of Sigmar than it does WHFB (both in terms of setting and gameplay). I dont know anything about Kings of War but it sounds like it might be a balanced and simplified version of WHFB.

Sure! Although generally speaking weekends are occupied by board/card game types, though sundays (if Haldir isnt holding a tournament) are usually free.

We have a crowd in for games on Friday nights, 6pm to midnight at Showcase Comics in Swarthmore PA. Using Azyr comp system. Currently playing with a 30 pt army, with main army of 20 pts, 10 points in reserve units. Feel free to run over if you like.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.
