So we are getting set for a new wave of ships that includes 2 new ships for the S&V faction. That will put the faction up to 3 unique small ships, 2 unique big ships, and 0 huge ships. Of course, they still have the 3 shared ships, bringing their total to 5 small ships and 3 big ships.

Obviously, FFG will start to run out of ideas eventually, but I think we are still due at least 2-3 more waves with new S&V ships. My biggest curiosity is the potential for a huge ship. I've not a devout follower of the expanded universe, so I've not really heard of any bounty hunters or crime lords that used ships in the "Huge" category, but I'm guessing they will come up with something used by the Hutts, and of course, there are still a few bounty hunters left to cover.

So you guys and gals that keep up with the EU, what are your thoughts for more ships, especially in the Huge category?

Well there's still a couple of the bounty hunter ships to go, a Punishing One (Dengar) or Mist Hunter (Zuckuss) would be nice, a dedicated bomber with access to SLAM would also be handy.

As for a Huge ship, hopefully they'll do like they did with the Raider and invent something, although I'd be happy with something transport sized rather than full blown Huge as fluff wise big big ships don't seem very Scum.

Probably something along the lines of this.

Wave 8 is already in the can and will probably be revealed tomorrow or Saturday.

I think the Jumpmaster is the closest to a dead cert, followed by the Scurrg H-6 (which could fill the big bomber spot for Scum). Not convinced Scum will ever get a huge ship TBH. Maybe a Hutt freighter? It would probably be something that was primarily support like the GR-75 but unlike the Rebel ship could be upgraded to hide some nasty surprises.

No clue what the Imps or Rebs might get at this point.

I think the next wave will be based on the Force Awakens. Seeing as how they won't have wave 7 out until later this quarter, they won't come out with anything else until 2016. After the movie has been released and Star Wars fever will pass around the world. Everyone will want everything related to the new movie. I wouldn't put it past FFG to release a new starter box that includes ships from the new movie as they sell in places outside of game stores (Barnes and Noble and such).

I'm not prejudiced, I hate everyone equally

I doubt Scum will get a large ship as well. I figured the whole purpose of the Larger ships was to play "cinematic" games and special scenarios, some of which can help resemble the films. There's nothing that notable for Scum, to my knowledge.

Eh, yeah that's true.

Well, I guess there's always the fact that Scum wouldn't need a ship that big? I dunno. It just strikes me as weird for them to have a cruiser equivalent.

A huge ship for S&V is most likely a shoe in. There are quite a few ships that would fit for epic. My favorite of all the options is Jabba's ship The Star Jewel. It's the perfect size for The Raider and Corvette scale. We could then get crew cards for Jabba and Boba Fett.

I'd really like to see the Mist Hunter as well, to round out the ESB Bounty Hunuter ships (along with Punishing One).

3 hours to the Flight Report at GenCon...
I'm hoping for Mist Hunter.
I can see a Scum getting some sort of carrier ship, now that we have rules for how the Pup deploys.

Well looks like I was somewhat right about S&V ships!

It's also worth noting that the Raider wasn't leaked until after Gen Con of last year. It's possible for a huge scum ship to still be in the works.

So that squares away all of the ESB bounty hunters. I wonder if we'll see any of the S&V characters introduced in the Clone Wars series? There were certainly a good number of them. Depends on if they make it into Rebels (don't really see why they wouldn't).

The Inquisitor TIE, the Ghost, and the Phantom are all from Rebels. I think the Gozanti made its first appearance elsewhere (Phantom Menace?) but it also appears in Rebels.

I'm very happy with Wave 8. The Inquisitor's TIE is a bit of a head-scratcher.
They've also posted the article for the Gozanti... which gets some new TIE pilots. Scourge looks like the finisher that pure swarms need... putting extra damage through to finish off ships.

Wow S&V has a cloaking device upgrade. Get a cloak action for 2 points (illicit slot) but it can break down at the end of any turn you are cloaked.

Saw a Google image of a Gozanti-class cruiser painted up as a black sun ship (not sure where it was from). Maybe a cross-over from the Imperial fleet is in order?

The Gozanti is supposed to be a pre-Clone War design, and CEC sold a lot to the private sector. Obviously, a lot of them also ended up with the Empire. Being a Scum huge ship is a possibility, but without the TIE's (obviously).

There is also a duck-billed variant with further engines:

In the case at Gen Con, the Imperial Assault Carrier was painted while Wave 8 was not. Maybe I'm reading too much into that, but it may mean that we'll see the Carrier before Wave 8. It was also announced that it can carry up to 4 TIE's... don't know yet if that means all ships with TIE in the title (like the TIE Engine card) or not.

The scum & villainy large ship..... several options but - as suggested above, a cruiser/warship seems wrong.

The Wild Karrde is one option (action transport). My one problem with that is that Talon Karrde is usually shown as a rebel ally - in the same way Han & Dash are rebels (in the card game they have a 'smugglers & spies' faction to keep the nice drug-smugglers seperate).

The one I'd suggest would be the Minstrel-class Yacht.

It's armed, but not ridiculously so, and it has a recognisable scum aesthetic - because it's essentially the spacegoing version of Jabba's Sail Barge.

There are a couple of named ones in the background already (Star Jewel, belonging to Jabba, and Dragon Pearl, belonging to a relative of his, Jiliac).

Plus, that would be a good excuse for a Jabba The Hutt crew card.

I see a Jabba crew card being a combination of Moff Jerrjerod and Darth Vader. Discard a crew card to add one Critical Hit.... but he takes 2 crew slots.

I would think Jabba will be a ship upgrade that allows you an extra crew slot. Since the Slug cant do much himself but is surrounded by servants and mercenary's.

He should be crew, though. Possibly he might be a crew card that adds a teamslot, since crew and teams aren't the same upgrade type.

My personal view is that he's very much about 'getting even' - that's his big motivation in the series; having his henchmen get you back whenever you annoy him. A 'double crew' makes sense because he's so damn fat!

My suggestion would be:

*Jabba The Hutt
(Crew) (Crew)
Huge Ship Only. Scum Only.
After you are hit by an attack, any friendly ships within range 1 may immediatly acquire a target lock on the attacker.
