No idea about anything end times but I do play ogres in 8th so I'll list some of the things that scare me:
-Lore of shadow, as well as being a fantastic lore all round it has pit of shades. Nuff said.
-Cannons. Granted this isnt so much of threat against 2 ironblaster which can snipe them off but if you stick them behind a fence or wall and the ironblaster hits that then the shot immeadeatley stops and the obstacle is removed, so be sure to keep that in mind if you roll an obstacle for terrain (or if you dont roll in your group then sneak a few onto the table).
-Anything with high killyness and initiative. So take demigryphs and inner circle knights. Just make sure to prioritize the mournfang (as they demolish your guys) and thundertusks (
ASL if your wthin 6") and you'll be cool.
-Light mage spam could work too. It gives you
ASF and S =
Ld which are terrifying.
-Basically your magic your choices are shadow/death, shadow/beasts or light.
-Ogres are very easy to flank too once you'vepicked off his sabretusks you'll be getting bonus combat res aplenty from your light cav and detatchments.
-As for Franz unless he has an Uber ward Save dont stick him on deathclaw or the dragon. Just dont.
Hope this Helps
Edit: Just saw he has a gorger, that'll force your shootings hand for a turn but shouldnt do any real damage unless you get unlucky (remember cannons can grapeshot), also if you are going for many wizards and empire have any miscast protection then take it *cough*hellheart*cough
