I started gaming way back in 1999 or 2000 (I think late 1999). Stopped around 2006. Sold all my Marines. Bought a rifle. Recently however, I decided to get back into it. Build some friendships, have fun. You know- the important aspects of the mini wargaming world. I also started building resin mini's on the side and selling them on Ebay. I run online as barbbuilt.com, and my blog is the Battle Specter blog on my website.

But that is marketing crap- and no one really cares. So, the important stuff. I am getting back into my old SM ways. Decided initially that I would run Valkir as my Marines, with Eisenkern as my scouts. They work pretty well. I lke the models, and mini for mini they are cheaper than SM's. BUT- they are not tournament legal (and they have no real close combat weapons aside from the assault Valkir). So I decided to make my own chapter. After reading the 6th edition codex, I was pretty unhappy seeing that the Create your own Chapter rules that were in the 4th edition codex were GONE. So I decided to make an assault Marine army, and run Raven Guard rules for the time being. That is a work in progress. I foresee many dollars going into this little army. My wife will probably be a little upset if she figures out the total expense.

As noted, I'm married with children (the total number is classified...). Currently I work as a cabinet maker, though that is getting short. My boss wants to retire, and my shoulder is taking a beating. I am a former Jarhead (hence the Marines preference) of eight years. I try to take some of that and write it into my stories (see the blog listed above). I am always open to criticism (so long as it's constructive and not just bashing what I write) and love doing the same if requested. I have a degree in writing (which actually has as much worth as the nanowrimo cert in my cave... Errrr... Basement workshop.

I look forward to replacing facebook with dakkadakka.com. I am sure, given time, this will be the case.
