Okay, so with AoS content being pretty much completely online, any new armies that GW makes, if they make any at all, will have their rules readily available. While I doubt that GW will make any new armies besides Sigmarines and Khorne, it's a possibility, as anything could come out through the winds of magic. So my questions is what sort of army would you like to see made for AoS. Only guideline is to keep it as a medevial/early gunpowder tech armies.

My first idea is a Cthulu styled army. The idea of eldritch creatures from another plane of exsistence that come and enslave your mind would be an interesting idea. Give them unqiue abilites to manipulate bravery and an unque spell that can control a unit. The actual leaders are very weak in CC, but they have enslaved monsters and hordes of ill-equipped and trained thralls to do their fighting for them. This one may stink a little to much of Chaos, but I think there's enough poentantial for an unique army. More unqiue tideas to follow.

Erm... we have those...

Heralds of Tzeentch leading Marauders and any monsters you want.

I think GW is forgoing the concept of armies in AoS and are going to be doing things by race. This is sort of a good thing as they do not need to worry about army identity or niche, just make a few model kits and boom! Does not matter what the rules are, because they do not have to do anything unique for their faction any more!

Now we can have 4 factions that are ruleswise nearly identical and differ only in models! Yay!

With that being the case, maybe Orruk Boomboyz who use extensive black powder? Their statlines look like Dwarfs but they have the Orruk keyword so its fine.

Yeah, but you don't really see it all on the tabletop, not even in the old WHFB. Tzetntech's main thing was improved wards, dice manipulation, and random strength flamers. Not really any mind control mechanics that I remember that well. I would hate them trying to combine all the factiosn though, because each factions should have it's own feel. No matter what your opinion of WHFB, each factions tended to have their own unqiue things that they could do, and it gave each of them a different playstyle.

Looks like the Germanic Empire will be no more, the only people shown so far are those from the cult of Sigmar.

I'm intrigued to see what the new humans will look like.

And I'm glad I have all the Empire models I'll ever need :-p

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I'm looking forward to seeing the new takes on aelf/duardin/orruk models.

I'm also interested to see lore/armies who fight the Stormcast besides Chaos. I kind of imagine the Stormcast as fascist rulers, which maybe not all the regular humans/elves/etc are too fond of.

I think the whole point of AoS is to stop focusing on armies as much as before and focus more on units or individual war-scrolls etc.. its a lot easier now to bring in unique units/races now.. you just need to release one unit and you can add it to any faction you want... add a few keywords to make it compatible i,e. celestial, daemon etc... they can really be creative now and are not bound by individual race ideals or themes

personally I would love some kind of insectoid race or a water themed one... or better, a water insectoid race :O or even none big four chaos daemons, like furies and such (daemons of the other minor gods)

Independent armiea for each of the gods and skaven clans for starters. Pestilens have some preordees up now in fact!

There is not this idea.

I kind of want humans that aren't aligned with order or chaos, but considering the other two options...

I want unaligned humans, but I'm not sure how it would work in the system.

Yeah the focus seems to be more on your individual models, more in a D&D heroic sense. The idea of a nationality and faction behind your units lost precedence to epic heroes or squads fighting it out in a ruined space-wasteland explosion (or whatever the fluff is now).

Cathay/Nippon based units.

Ninja and Samurai who hate what the Skaven did to the old world and are out for revenge. Big units could be dragon based. Samurai could have high bravery or reroll battleshock,
while ninjas have good movement and some sort of stealth ability.
