Here's my take:

Lord on Eagle - 50mm square + flight stand // large flying base (50mm round base + flight stand)
Swordmaster - 20mm square // 25mm round
Seaguard - 20mm square // 25mm round
Eternal Guard - 20mm square // 25mm round
Mounted Dude - 25x50mm rectangle // 40mm round

I'm guessing one of the new oval bases is intended for cavalry in AOS, however I have a ton of 40mm bases (and so do others, so the price for them should be cheaper online) and kind of like how cav looks on them.

If you want to be consistent with new releases, even if it technically puts you at a space disadvantage, it seems 32mm is the new smallest size for infantry. The Plague Monks, Bloodreavers and Dryads are all on 32mm. I'm guessing even goblins will be.

A thought 32 would be the main stream base size for infantry . Because the bloodreavers and the new dryads are on 32.

Pretty sure the plague monks are on 25mm. The pictures on What's new today show the plague monks on smaller bases to the Beastmen by their side.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Fantasy has two sizes of square bases for non-monstrous infantry, so it only makes sense to me that AOS would as well: 20mm -> 25mm, 25mm -> 32mm

This is pretty spot on with what their releases have been. The round equivalent to squares seems to be based on the diagonal measurement, not the side.

Agreed. I rebased my Chaos Warriors onto 32mm round bases, and they look good on them, the more bulky models seem to fit quite right. The same for my Skeleton Warriors from the Tomb Kings army, which went onto 25mm rounds.

Are you sure that 25mm infantry rebasing to 32 is the way they're going? I think that both square sizes (20mm and 25mm) work best with 25mm round base. That's the most reasonable "regular/small infantry" base size using round ones and a way to not have to produce two different diameter bases. And I think that's what GW is going for - 32mm will be for big infantry like Chaos Warriors, Chosen, Sigmarines and the likes - the huge guys in bulky armour.

This photo seems to support my idea, because - as you can see - the dryads are on smaller bases, which is reasonable as they're much skinnier and less "expansive" than the nurgledudes or the sigmarine. I can see the same thing happening to every small infantry model that isn't supposed to be huge (like Chaos Warriors and Black Orcs) no matter if they were on 20 or 25mm square bases - beastmen look perfect on 25mm just like dryads, and they were on 25mm square bases.

I couldn't tell you from my own experience, but I've been told quite strongly here on Dakka that Sigmarines are on 40mm bases. I kind of think those Blight Kings are as well

I haven't meticulously measured the bases, (because in AoS base size doesn't matter so why should I care?) but the Sigmarines and Khorne Warriors are indeed on bigger bases than the Bloodreavers. Apart from one because I received too many large bases, but I put him on one anyway because BASE SIZE DOESN'T MATTER, WHY SHOULD I CARE?

The online store says the dryads come with 32mm bases.

Oh, haha, I've apparently been gluing my sigmarines to bloodreaver bases! For my defense I have to say that they look just plain better on those - the huge base only really suits the Lord-Relictor due to his more expansive posture and the icon!

Oh well, the bases don't matter anyway and I prefer mine on those! :-D

It would seem that the comparison material on the image you posted is a bunch of Blightlords of Nurgle. They are almost ogre sized, and also came with 40mm bases, I believe, when they were still shipped with square bases.

I got me two boxes of Bloodletters.
I'll base them on 32mm bases.
No more 25mm bases in my AoS armies.
