I just thought I would pass this on to everyone because this literally just happened yesterday. Leaving an Olive Garden with my wife we got stuck in a line of cars and it turned out someone at the front had broken down. In true Florida fashion, not a single person had gotten out of their cars to help the guy and find out what the problem was. So I pulled back into the parking lot and went to help the guy move his car.....and then smoke started billowing out of the driver/passenger air vents. Told the guy to put the car in neutral and turn it off and we could quickly get it off the road. The second I touched the car i noticed that the trunk was hot to the touch so I had the guy open it for me......and enter the after market wiring. Apparently this guy had either installed a system himself or had a friend do it for him, regardless whoever did it did such a terrible job installing the wiring that he either left wires exposed or put to much power through something and it had caused a fire to break out in the trunk that melted through the entire bottom of the car before I had time to run into the store and get a fire extinguisher.
So ladies and gentlemen, if your going to add a system to your car or home, either have a professional do it, or double check their work afterwards to make sure you don't ruin your own 2012-2014 Ford Mustang
