I'm planning on taking the plunge with AoS. I've never played Warhammer, always been interested, and now seems like the time. I have a few completely newb questions, though.

One - where do I get the new bases? Are they simply 40k bases? I've seen in pictures and I like them, but the only round bases I have are the ones with the lip. I like the ones without the lip that I've seen in pictures more, not sure where to buy them though.

Two - This one seems silly, even to me, but I thought I'd throw it in. I'm planning on playing small and skirmishy to start. I have a Stormvermin with that little pick-axe sort of weapon equipped. The rules for Stormvermin only list damage for their halberds. Is that an oversight? It bugs me. I feel like I should try to strip that arm off and put a halberd arm on instead. I have a little OCD. Couldn't find this mentioned anywhere else.

1) They're just GW round bases, available online/in store/flgs or wherever - nothing special.

2) Are you sure that model you've got isn't Queek Headtaker?

GW sell packs of the bases or you can buyer cheaper versions from Litko Aero.

Unit champion. Usually have a different weapon so you can tell them apart, but unless it says so in the description, they use the same weapon rules.
