Hey all,

For my Khornate warband, I plan to mount my Lord on a Thundertusk. I'm having trouble working out acceptable rules for it, though.
My first thought was to call it a Juggernaut of Khorne, but the bonuses and points just seem to small. I've looked in codices for something else but can't really see anything that suits. Obviously, the Thundertusk is massive, so the rules need to reflect that this is a huge beast that can do some damage. +1 attack and +1 toughness just doesn't seem right, somehow!

Are there any units that have the right kind of rules in Ork, IG, Tyranid or Tau codices, for example?
Anyone want to offer some custom rules?

NB: I only play casual games with friends who don't have their own miniatures and we use house rules all the time, so I can do pretty much anything I like.

I did some digging and found a useful calculator on another forum: http://www.40konline.com/index.php?topic=105821.0;prev_next=prev#new
It looked pretty well thought out and can predict the points values of actual codex entries to a good degree of accuracy, so I tried it. The results are below:

TOTAL 137pts:
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
6 5 7 5 4 4 6 10 3/5+
WARGEAR:
RULES: champion of chaos, fearless, cavalry

I decided to integrate the mount and the rider to get a better idea of what sort of characteristics to have.
Therefore I gave them a high strength, since the mount is a massive beast.
A lower initiative than a normal lord, since the beast is slightly lumbering and he is seated up high.
More attacks, as the beast has tusks and feet and he has a CCW and pistol.
+1 toughness and +1 wound due to the massive beast.
Inv. save, as with most chaos characters and daemons.

Calculations:
1. Mean of WS, BS, S, T & I = 5.4
Square it = 29 (0dp)
2. Find 10% = 2.9
3. Add due to fearless = 29+2.9 = 31.9
a. Add again due to cavalry = 34.8
4. Add again for 3+ save = 37.7
a. And again for inv save = 40.6
5. Add W+A = 4+6+1 (for pistol) = 11
a. Divide by 4 and add 0.5 = 3.25
b. Multply value by this = 40.6*3.25 = 132 (0dp)

Armoury options:
<9 3 x1 = 3
10-19 9 x1 = 9
20-39 4 x2 = 8
40+ 3 x3 = 9
Total 29

Divide by 5 = 5.8 (round down).

Add 1 pt for each multiple of 5 = 132+5 = 137

Basic points value = 137

TOTAL 192pts: basic (137) , murder sword (35), plasma pistol (15). Ichor Blood (5)

WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
6 5 7 5 4 4 6 10 3/5+

WARGEAR: Murder Sword, plasma pistol
RULES: champion of chaos, fearless, cavalry, Ichor Blood

Any thoughts? 192pts seems reasonable to me.
