Has anyone done this or is anyone in the process of doing this? I love the model and his rules are pretty sweet and it's handy that his rules target only enemy models and not specific factions, so using him in a Chaos army should be easy.

Sounds interesting, and I hope someone will. To bad he is so EXCEPTIONALLY overpriced. Really geedubs? $80? No.

Its less cheaper than all the other factions main models tho. I dont see how it could be chaos at all. Also look at the keywords on the warscroll, its all stormcast eternals. Its basically sigmar!

And...? You can still use it in a chaos force.

I bought mine as a preorder on ebay for $60. I never go to gw for pre orders... or regular orders anymore. This guy is larger than a dreadnought so $60 is not unreasonable these days (not that I wouldn't mind if he was cheaper!!).

I think most if not all GW prices are pretty ridiculous. But hey, that's just me

There is not this idea.

I'm not a fan of the model, but I am a big, big fan of seeing people do really creative things with models, even if it's crazy. Or especially if it's crazy. So I'd be down with chaosified Celestant dudes.

Well, yeah, but I assume he meant chaosify as in, make the model Chaos-y, not just toss the model as is into a Chaos battleforce. Basically, a corrupted Celestant Prime, which would be pretty cool as an idea.

There is a precedent for it, too: this dude is the first Sigmarite ever, the most powerful, entrusted with Sigmar's weapon, etc etc... a neat parallel a certain traitorous Warmaster

Exactly. Though my first thought was that it's a shame Slaanesh is MIA, because the with all of the gold and such, the model might make a great Slaaneshi conversion.

That could be a fun bit of storytelling in itself, I suppose. Sigmar's greatest hero being corrupted by the one god they thought was gone for good, or something similar.

I think Slaanesh is coming back in the storyline (much like Ghal Maraz returned) -- it seems AoS is much more fluid than Fantasy Battle was in that way. So a Slaanesh corruption could be pretty cool!

If it were Khornified, a new set of wings would be sweet. Something Archangel-ish, a la X-Factor archangel, after Apocalypse got his hands on the erstwhile Warren Worthington III.

The best thing that comes to my mind would be... Archaon. I don't really know what state he's in right now, he's probably a daemon due to the fact that he brought the whole world to ruin in the name of the Gods, so he ought to get some nice reward, but otherwise he'd make a mighty avatar if he found Ghal Maraz and defiled it.

I did not know that. I'm having trouble keeping up with the new fluff, is this brought up in one of the newer books?

The more challenging conversion might be nurglifying it. Have to apply a lot of greenstuff or something similar to give it the right look.

Great feed back! Thanks y'all. What I was thinking about was simply an Undivided Chaos Lord Celestan with bat-like wings, that warhammer from the mounted Chaos Lord and maybe a staff. Definitely change the head, and giving his armor a more evil touch, like maybe GS some faces into it. Another cool thing to do would be to replace the swirling orbs with spirits or the symbols of Chaos.

Ya, my bad for not thinking outside of the box, it does sound cool and add another storyline. Games workshop has to charge alot tho right? Its their only business. If they were a subdivision to like walmart i bet you it would be cheap!

Could make a cool Tzeentch model with screamers flying up around it and it standing on a 'disk'

My idea would be similar to this Warmachine model:

Spirit Hosts could work since the Celestant Prime is such a big model:
