Evening, after many years of being an observer on DakkaDakka, I've decided to join, post my work, contribute to discussions, SPREAD THE HOLY WORD OF CHAOS!!!
I plan on starting an army of Chaos Space Marines. Any advice, opinions, and army lists would be appreciated. I'll be starting small, expanding as I gain a firmer grasp of the game.

Hello and welcome! I'm not a chaos player myself, so the only advice I can offer is that I like the look of the cultists. Which is less advice and more personal taste. At any rate, I wish you the best of luck with your army building!

Welcome to Dakka and the Legions of Chaos.
My only chaos advice is play what appeals to you. Unless you plan on being a Tournament spike, your army composition should only exist to make your games more enjoyable (IE - don't listen to the advice of internet duders)

Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
