Subject: Force Awakens TIE with rear firing weapons?

Was looking at my Special Forces TIE micro machines and the trailer, and noticed that the TIE hovering in the landing bay and blasting the other TIEs is actually the rear of the Special Forces TIE.
So.... does this mean the X-Wing version will have rear-firing cannons?
What do you think?

If they make a Special Forces TIE, they probably will have front and rear arcs.
The ones in the Starter and Blister are just First Order TIE Fighters.

Or maybe something like Anti Pursuit Lasers for small ships, if they don't give them a rear arc.

For some reason I feel it's more likely it will be given a turret rather than a rear firing arc

How? The bottom swivel gun literally cannot fire to the sides as the giant side solar panels block it's line of fire

Still makes more sense than slapping on an extra pair of guns..

I'm thinking of the base. With all the stats at the bottom/back, the rear arc wouldn't be shown, meaning it would be difficult to work out what's in it accurately. A turret on the other hand wouldn't have that problem

It makes no odds, it is totally feasible to put two, thin, dotted lines out to the corners of the base insert without somehow totally screwing with the legibility of the stats.

I am sure they could easily make a rear firing arc on a small base.
What I find most interesting is that it should be a secondary weapon that can shoot in either front or rear arc.
See in this pic it sure looks like the under-slung guns are facing front.
But the Gunner / Co-Pilot / RIO is facing backwards.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I finally got my copy of the new core set, and noticed on the back page of the rule book, they had an icon that showed auxiliary arc, so I would assume that means the special forces tie will get a rear firing arc

No, that's just a reference guide to the different icons found on ship. There is already two ships in the game with auxiliary firing arcs (the Firespray-31 and YV-666).
