Hello

So.... I like the easy going rules and such miss the more point based ones but still it is what it is.

Here is my question tho for new people who started with AoS : Why play anything other then sigmars army? No one else has a story or anything longer then a 9 word userp describing the whole army.

Ogres like to eat fight why is there one breathing fire who knows
Orcs like to fight and are green wow good disctription.
Nagash rule of a planet of dead things why is he a giant skull who knows.
Hell even the khorne guys don't get a discription of why they are hard asses, they apparently walking through a field one day" after a book talking about sigmar", they see robot angels fall from the sky scream and attack....

So how the hell do we get anyone wanting to play this? If you like a story a lore or anything otherr then expensive models on a board whats the catch?

If you have a look at the hardbacks (and especially the novels), there is a good bit of story to get your teeth into for Khorne (Goretide), Nurgle (Rotbringers) and Tzeentch (Bleak Horde) forces, and it seems very apparent that Skaven are about to be unleashed - Pestilens is strongly represented and the rest have already popped up. Even the Sylvaneth are somewhat more than a 'side' force, and they have the benefit of being closely allied to Stormcasts, meaning hyou can have a combined force.

As for the rest... just give it a little time, they will appear. But the above are quite well represented already. You might even find some (Rotbringers!) to be more interesting than the Stormcasts...

Oh, and Khorne is getting a whole book to himself next week.

Right now, there isn't one in the sense you're looking for.
Frankly, I'd be mighty surprised if anyone who was introduced to the hobby through AoS was playing anything other than Stormcast or Bloodbound - with a side of Nurgle/Skaven.

The background is evidently a work in progress and it's pretty clear from what GW have tried over the past few years that the scope of the background will expand as new releases come forward.

Framing it as an entirely new release, AoS isn't even 3 months old, and there's already plenty of background info released at this stage.
In WFB, Ogres as they are now didn't "exist" for over 15 years, and Nagash didn't appear until the mid-90's.
The description of the Bloodbound... that's more than covered, you just haven't read it / noticed it!

If we're still wondering why there's now two Dwarf factions in 12 month's time, then we might have a problem.

I would pick a force you like the look of and try to get a battallion box of it. that has worked out so far for my group (though we originally did it for WHFB)

I have age of sigmar skirmish sized armies for:

High elves
stormcast eternals
bretonnians
lizardmen
Dwarfs
Bloodbound
Warriors of chaos
daemons
skaven
Tomb kings

Prior to aos i only had a few metal fantasy characters... i got into each of these armies for $50-$150 (mostly armies in primer on ebay or old starter sets with a few added characters, there are many deals out there on craigslist or ebay).

Here's what you need to do:

Download the free pdf rules or the aos app, study the rules and unit profiles for unit synergy, pick an army that appeals to you, buy a couple units (40-60 wounds to start, probably a couple characters, an elite unit, and a troop unit), and start gaming/having fun!!
