Hey folks,

Hopefully a dead straight forward topic

Got into Malifaux quite handily. And I'm wanting to make one purchase to 'see me straight' on Malifaux and give me options when playing so I don't need to buy again and can get cracking.

I'm set on Lilith. So that's sorted

Now it's a case of what to get with her

The first is obviously a grow list - I know the risks with this. But I still like the idea and will use it in casuals.

Barbaros
Nekima
Cherub
1 Mature Nephilim
2 Young Nephilim
3 Terror Tots
1 Black Blood Shaman

Then to allow me to get a little more serious to mix and match

Primordial Magic
Bad Juju
Doppelgänger
Killjoy
2 Silurids
2 Waldgeist

Is there anything else you'd recommend. Or have I hopefully covered all my bases?

Thanks in advance

Lilith is an incredibly strong and versatile master (one of the best, even for a beginner).

*Insert bit about how to you build your list to the strats and schemes

Here's my Lilith Breakdown:

She's nasty in melee, but she's a Neverborn and won't last when focused on. Use her to control an area and gobble up stragglers with her teleport/swap.

For totems, the Cherub is okay, but the Primoridal Magic is my go-to for Lilith and Pandora. Lilith already gets to draw a card and discard at the start of the turn from Rush of Magic. The Primordial Magic (Puke Worm) doubles that. Take the Wings upgrade (Wave 2) to give her flight and 3 cards instead of 2 when burning a stone. You can win on pure card domination.

Waldgheists are great with Lilith (the same goes for the Mysterious Emissary), as they can drop down forests to block terrain, just like Lilith. They're really annoying and difficult to put down and help deny portions of the board.

Silurids are great scheme runners, as are Gupps.

Consider McTavish as a merc henchman if you find yourself running a lot of swampfiends. He's solid on his own and swampfiends make him even better.

Dopples are just amazing. You get to cheat initiative, copy whatever you need, and they're durable. You can interact while engaged, which is incredibly powerful. It's an auto-take for me.

Tots make great scheme runners.

If you want to take a growth list, l would start with 2-3 tots, Nekima with her summoning upgrade, a Shaman, and Barbaros (who can push things into the tots, so they can pounce (play against Seamus if you don't know how amazing pounce is). Then, consider a Doppleganger (as they're amazing) and a Beckoner. Lilith can lure and teleport things and a Beckoner can do it very well too. Tots will grow and do your scheme running, Nekima and Barbaros just slaughter things, and Lilith splits up the enemy and feeds her tots or just slaughters.

Great run-down on Lilith!

The Waldgeist's forests do not block as they do not have "dense" where Lilith's does. A subtle difference that can be impactful.

Cheers

I'll add the suggestions to my cart.

I'd rather have everything in front of me from scratch.

Don't envisage expanding any further beyond the first purchase unless absolutely necessary

Heh, let's lock this in a quote so you can revisit it in a few months.

I can attest to this.

You ain't going to win that one on a revisit.

I've bought a house that needs total modernisation.
