Hey everyone, I have a tournament at the end of October and I really have no idea what to take....Last tournament I ran a punisher , two bombers, and night beast and took second. However, I feel that the meta has shifted somewhat since the new core set dropped. What are your opinions on what the meta has shifted to lately? I am extremely tempted to run night beast, 2x academy pilots, 4x tie/fo's...

I think that, between the new starter, the big ship MoV nerf, and the still recent TIE Advanced patch and Wave 7, the meta is kinda still in a state of flux.

So really, run what you like.

It's kind of in flux at the moment. Fat Han and PWTs will still be a thing, Scum will probably see more than just Brobots (thank goodness!), but expect to see lots of TLT.

I guess my inaccurate judgement of the meta was well justified :p
We had a local guy win a tournament with a Decimator and two Tie Advanced, I think maybe we'll see more single big-ship lists with the nerf rather than (eg) Fat Han and Dash? Who knows..I ran the new tie spam list I had in the OP and won my game handily. I'll be interested to see how things shake out...

It's in flux right now. In a month or so, we'll have more tournament results on List Juggler. We'll be able to draw better conclusions then.

Just finished 2nd in a tournament this past Saturday. The meta at this location seems to be the following:

1. y-wing TLT. Scum build. The all 3 maneuvers being green helps the y-wing get to good places.
2. Palpmobile: Usually with Sontir Fel and Vader.
3. B-wings x4. Can't go too wrong here. Alot of shields/hull to chew through. Great list and forgiving if errors are made.

I was the only one running Dash/Corran and sort of surprised by that. Out of 18 participants, easily half were flying imperial lists (palpmobile, Tie Adv. 3 ship build). I did see a few of the T-70 but I did not have to go against those.

Yeah, that sounds like the last tournament I was at (I was Palpmobile, overall winner was B-wings).

What I have seen is a lot of is:
Fat 2-ship builds (MOV nerf be damned!)
Palpmobile
Darth Vader
Soontir Fel
Phantoms
Bossk /w 2 Kihraxz's or a z-95 miniswarm
Brobots
Warthog /w TLT and Stress Bot

For as much talk as TLT Swarm is getting, I've only seen it once in the three tournaments I've been to since Wave 7 dropped (and that guy didn't place in top 4 or anything like that). We've practiced with it, and it does seem clearly to be a very strong list that doesn't take a lot of skill to fly effectively.

B-Wing, TIE and z-95 swarms remain a good choice. I've seen a lot of Z-95 miniswarms paired with an ace ship or a fat large ship. They're less popular simply because you have to buy a lot of one type of ship.

One thing that I'm expecting to see more of is Kihraxz swarms - either 4 Black Sun Aces with a couple of cheap upgrades each, or a simple 5 ship Cartel Marauder swarm.

I haven't seen many K-Wings or Decimators in competitive play recently.

TLT is dominating the meta in my area right now.

While I do like the B-wings, in my experience B-wing swarms get murdered by any kind of arc dodging list (and there are plenty out there these days). I was thinking of trying 3 B-wings + some kind of turret ship to deal with the odd arc dodger.

I have not seen anyone play y-wing tlt lists with btl-a4 upgrades, although it looks brutal. Is it not as good as it sounds?

Thing with the TLT is that you get two attacks already. Given the Y-wings poor maneuverability, most people tend to be happy with the two attacks in a 360, and don't feel giving that up is worth the extra primary weapon attack. I have seen it used with R3-A2, in order to double-stress at range 3 (potentially crippling a ship early).

Part of the TLT swarm's power is that it is good against basically everything. If you give them BTL-A4, you strengthen them against some lists, while making them dramatically weaker against others. In a tournament meta where anti-Y-Wing lists are going to be a thing, it's going to be a net loss for the lists's fitness (e.g, the extra wins are not going to counteract the extra losses).

All BTL-A4 strikes me as a loser, but there might be a happy medium - maybe 2 warthogs, and 2 turrets. I think the that would have an advantage against a regular TLT swarm with all turrets, and still have enough TLT turrets to strip tokens off of highly defensive ships and plink them to death.

My plan is to dish out some ion tokens to set up the A4s

I always figured it would be harder to play, but i cant see the fun in taking just 4x tlt y-wings. Win or lose A4s should at least make things interesting

If you do take A4's, be sure to equip them with R2 units. Y-Wings gain 6 green maneuvers, and it gives them way more flexibility in choice when setting your dial.

It's a nickname for Y-wings with the btl-a4 upgrade based on the A10 warthog

Brutal, but very much harder to play than without the title. Keeping things in arc with a Y-Wing can be difficult, but if you are skilled enough to be able to do it you get the benefit.

Unhinged scum Y Wings would work best with it. Makes them very fast and maneuverable and with proper play will be almost impossible to dodge all the arcs.

The 4 y-wing list here is the scum variant. 4 y-wings with TLT and unhinged astromech x4. Nice green 3 banks and turns. I prefer this over the Rebel R2 version.

This past weekend, other than the shuttle with Palp in it, I was flying the only other large base ship. Corran/Dash combo. I think some people are trying different things before the new FAQ takes effect. Either way, I came to the conclusion that either my Dash was destroyed totally or little to no damage.
