So, got a little match this week to make sure I learn a couple thing with my list. I played against 1250pts Necrons CADS (No decurion). I didn't see the whole list of the necron, but I can post what I remember.
His List (I will post more detail like weapon name, soon):
+++HQ+++
-Illuminor Szeras
+++TROOPS+++
-12man Warrior blob
-10man Immortal Gauss(attached to Szeras)
+++FAST ATTACK+++
-3man Blades with particle beamer
-10man Flayed One
+++ELITE+++
-10man Triarch Praetorians with the AP2 pistol rods of covenant
-C'tan Shard of The Nightbringer
The Immortals were boost to toughness 5 by Szeras I think (he roll on a table to obtain that result).
+++HEAVY SUPPORT+++
-Canoptek Spyder with scarabs
Pre-game:Nightfigting is on. He deploy first, and I failed to seize the initiative. I don't have a picture for the deployment, but I will make sure I have for all 4 rounds of the tournament. The deployment was Hammer and Anvil (the long side). The scenario was the Relic. We replaced some terrain right before the game started (after I picked my side) and knowing that, I would have pick the other board side (I picked first). I end up being unable to see the relic,
LOS blocked by a big rock (you will see in the picture). He deployed aggresivly, ready to take the center and hide behind cover with the relic.
Turn 1:And this is where I probably (definitly) should have been more careful. My 11 pathfinders were deployed left and right of the board, but WAY too close to my enemy. So was my firewarriors + Cadre unit. I didn't wanted to put the
FW too far, because I wanted to shoot more by not moving, but I end up right at the 24inch after he moved his C'tan. So, during his turn, he moved everything forwad. Take some shot with the Tomb Blades right on the 4man pathfinders on the right. They got destroyed. The Ctan role for his spell, after aiming my Cadre, and got the Large blast strenght 8
Ap 4 (I will double check that info later to have the exact stats) and annihilated 6
FW + the Cadre. On the left flank, his Canoptek end up close enought to charge my 5man pathdinders. They didn't die on that turn of combat, but I wished they had.
My turn didn't go as well as plan either. My Skyray completly failed to do a single wound to the C'tan after firing all Seeker at BS5, + the
TL SMS. I was very disapointed. Took some potshot with Longstike submunition and get to kill a single Praetorian. Riptide killed 1 warrior, and my Broadside killed 1 tomb blade (bigest victory for that turn to be honest. The score is now 2-0, with already a lot of markerlight dead on my side (learned my lesson tho), and no firing bonus from the Cadre (and he had the Warlord trait that allowed re-roll of 1 to hit for 1 turn too! :( )
Turn 2:Finally got my head into the game. He continue moving forward, reaching the middle of the board with the core of his forces. He seems to keep the Warrior and immortal behind the
LOS blocker rock, while moving his Tomb Blade toward my Broadside. His Flayed one got unlocky run roll so far, so they aren't yet threatening. So is his Ctan. He shoot his LAZER BEAM armourbane from Szeras on my Longstike, but I had cover due to a ruin obscuring my vehicule. No damage substained. Toomb blade got 1 wound off the broadside. The Ctan roll on his spell list after aiming my Riptide. Unfortunately, he roll the strenght D weapon. Fortunatly, he rolled 1 on the D table. He then kill a couple more Firewarrior from my second squad, taking almost half of them again. The 6 survivor from turn 1 were killed too. I was happy with his turn, because I didn't substain enought damage to panic yet. also, the Scarab finished up my pathfinder.
My turn, I probably did a game deciding move. Not sure if I could have change the result of the game, but surely mattered a lot in the long run. I walk back all my troops, starting to group up in the right corner of my deployment zone. Then, I unleashed everything I could shoot. Did 2 wound to the Ctan, annihilate his Praterioan with my Commander + Crisis firing rapidfire plasma and melta in their face. The firewarriors took a couple flayed one out of the game, while the other squad shot the scarab. broadside claimed the life of another Tomb blade. Riptide got a couple more Immortal. I was feeling confident I could kill him before he was too close, but by doing so, I realise that I got myself super far from the relic. Oh well, I will move forward next turn I tell myself.
Turn 3:Szeras start by shooting his LAZER once again against Longstike. This time, he took 1
HP and Crew Stuned me. Tomb blade did nothing that turn. Ctan roll his D weapon again. This time, he take 2 wounds off my Riptide. The flayed one lost 1 model trying to charge me, and failed their charge. The scarabs are wiped trying to charge my Longstike (which can Overwatch, and was supported by the riptide).
My turn, I assumed I lose the match for some reason, and decide to move back again, continuing to fire at his army. I wipe the last Praetorian alive, and do 1 more wound to the Ctan. The Flayed one are now also pretty thin. Riptide got a Warrior kill and that's it. (Riptide did awesome placed blast all game, but was always uncessful due to crazy reanimation roll from my oponent.
Turn 4: Szeras have fun with the LAZER again. This time, strip 1
HP and Crew Shake Longstrike, the resilient little scum hehe. flayed one get kill on their charge. Ctan kill a squad of 6
FW. No more Firewarrior on my side of the board. Canoptek Spyder manage to tie in
CC my Riptide, and we end up both dying (don't remember exactly how, but it was funny to see).
I finally manage to kill the last Tomb blade. Fail to take the last wound off the Ctan for some reason. kill 1 more warrior. I start moving toward the relic once again, knowing it's my only chance to win the game at this point (or boarding him)
Turn 5: Ctan kill other 6
FW. the rest hide behind the
LOS rock.
I kill the Ctan, and rush everything on the relic. I can take a couple shot here and there, but failed to do any real damage. I kill 1 or 2 immortal and that's it.
No turn 6, final score is 5-0 for Necrons. I have my Broadside, my 3 Crisis with 4 marker drone, my Longstike and my Skyray still up. He has Szeras, 5 Immortal and maybe 5 Warrior. Very exciting game! Disclaimer: not sure if the person I played against watch Dakka, but sorry if you feel the game is not 100% exact. I should have write that yesterday or wednesday, so I forgot a couple things. I made sure the ''core'' of the game is exact, reflecting our deicision the best I could. Also, I am 100% sure the final score tho
