A quick intro. I have recently moved to London and did bot know anyone at all so my nights would consist of me sitting in on my own watching movies. I went to EGX2015 with a few friends and on the last day we decided to wonder and do what ever.

I was waved over by a some people playing warhammer fantasy at a table and asking if I knew anything about it. I then spent 3 hours chatting and watching them play. I didn't learn anything about rules except it included dice and different phases.

Upon returning to London I decided to take a look further into the hobby and found my local gaming store in totenham court road. The staff were super friendly and gave me a model to paint and gave me my first game of the hobby. They explained some basics and gave me an overview of the armies and the different games in the warhammer universe.

For me it was a way to get out of the house and meet people. Everyone in the store is super friendly and I even sat and watched one of the staff members convert and begin painting a model, which they may have found weird but they were happy to answer questions and tell me what they were doing at each step.

Ultimately I have ended up going 40k and after lots of hunting I have settled on the Tau.

Only been collecting and painting a matter of hours maybe 10 hours total.

Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself!

I think you'll find most gamers are a welcoming bunch, just stay away from those who have grown to dislike the parent company
