Hey guys, the FLGS is having a 160 point x-wing store tournament this coming Saturday. With so many points at my disposal, I'm actually at a bit of a loss as to what to do. I've thought about simply slamming a Fat Dash or Fat Han into a standard 100 point list like 4 B-wings or a swarm of Z-95, but that doesn't really appeal to me. It's a fairly casual tournament and it's the first tournament I've ever been to so I thought I would try something a little different.

I usually play lots of turret ships or something like a 4 B's. I wanted something a little different and I wanted to play with a ship I've never actually used - The HWK-290.

The Core of the force is 3 B-wings led by an obese Keyan Farlander
Keyan Farlander (29)
Stay on Target (2)
Advanced Sensors (3)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
B/E2 (1)
Intelligence Agent (1)
(43)

So this Keyan packs a punch and is a fairly maneuverable arc dodger to boot. Should be a fairly good assassin against whatever I need dead

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire Control System (2)
(24)

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire Control System (2)
(24)

Two B-wings to add hit points and firepower.

Wedge Antilles (29)
Outmaneuver (3)
R7-T1 (3)
Experimental Interface (3)
(38)

So, it's Wedge which is good, but I think I dialed him up to eleven. If I can get him outside of his target's fire-arcs, he's stripping 2 agility points off them and he has a potential 5 dice attack at range 1 in conjunction with Jan Ors's ability.

Jan Ors (25)
Nien Numb (1)
Ion Turret (5)
(31)

I've never played a HWK-290 before, but I imagine they try to stick to the periphery of the fight while remaining in range to support with their abilities.

I have a couple of other versions of this list too. One of them swaps out Blue Squad B-wing for a Gold Squad Y-wing with ion canon turret and upgrades Jan Ors weapon to a TLT. The other one is a little bit of an overhaul because it uses Corran Horn instead of Wedge and is basically a completely different list. I know that 5 ships at 160 is probably not enough, but I would really like to try some of the more expensive pilots as I usually shy away from them with the exception of the large turreted ships. Any advice for this noob would be greatly appreciated.

PS- I have a large collection, but I have no Scum and Villainy stuff so keep that in mind please!

Definitely give Jan a TLT if you can. I'd also say that Blaster Turret is better than ICT on her too.

If you have the new Starter, BB-8 and Push the Limit on Wedge is sick... triple actions without a stress at the end of it... sick.

I re-thought the list a little bit and was wondering what you think of this.

Corran Horn
PTL
FCS
R2-D2
44

Lt. Blount
Vet. Instincts
Ion Pulse Missle
21

Dutch Vander
Ion Cannon Turret
R7-T1
32

Blue Squadron
ADV Sensors
Heavy Laser Cannon
32

Blue Squadron
ADV Sensors
Heavy Laser Cannon
32

This list ... well, it's weird. Blount and Vander focus on control which should allow the B-wings to get in good position to pound on low to mid PS ships. The weakness here is PS9+ ships but I had to keep Corran fairly cheap to fit everything else in. I don't know how I feel about it, but I think it hits pretty hard.

I think that you've nailed the strengths and weaknesses of your list... however, your weakness is a HUGE weakness and your strength is a little strength.
You will see A LOT of high PS ships and a lot of low PS ships... but very few mid-range ships. You seem to be taking a list that will be weak against MOST of the meta.
