Playing a casual game with a friend tonight and I want to give my decimator a go - this is the list i've made having no idea what he is going to throw at me:

Oicunn
- Expose
- Mara Jade
- Tactical Jammer

Kath Scarlot
- Calculation
- Mangler
- Gunner

My thoughts was that Oicunn would annoy up close and soak up most of the shooting, while Kath deals out crits/stress at will.

The only other imp ships i have in my collection are the 2 ties and a phantom.
I've already run the heck out of the phantom, hence kath.

Thoughts?

Expose is expensive and worth less than just taking a focus action, it's only really worth it on RAC where you can take a target lock for your action, use experimental interface to activate expose, and then get a free "focus" from his pilot ability. And even then it's a ton of points for questionable return. And the tactical jammer is mediocre at best, most of the time in a two-big-ship list it just isn't going to do anything besides waste points. Your Kath setup is decent, but it's a situational tool that only consistently works against high-agility targets. If you're expecting your opponent to bring a list full of b-wings you're going to be pretty disappointed.

Drop Expose and add Intimidation and the Dauntless title. They synergize with Oicunn's ramming ability. Tactical Jammer is mediocre even for a 1pt upgrade; anti-pursuit lasers would be a better buy if you can find the points.

Scum Kath looks fine. Between her and Mara Jade, you should be able to dump a lot of stress onto your opponents. Mercenary Co-Pilot is another useful crew card, though it's probably less valuable than Gunner. The downside to taking Intimidation on Oicunn is that it will result in less stress from Kath.

Yea you really want Experimental Interface to work with Expose otherwise its kind of a waist.

You could make a Fat Decimator (Moff Jerjerrod with 2 more crew..etc) with 2 named tie fighter pilots, for giggles.

I would recommend to pick up the Imperial aces and possibly the Tie Interceptor booster next, Interceptors are solid ships and work well with VT-49s.

Life before death, Strength before weakness, Journey before destination.

Remember that Mara Jade does not add stress to any ship that is already stressed when she triggers. So you won't be able to stress someone with Kath and then add even more stress at the end of the turn.

Drop Mara Jade for Rebel Captive

I recently ran a fun game with some friends, and my list was a stripped down bare bones list:

Patrol Leader 40
x5 Academy Pilots (totaling 60)

Two of my academy pilots earned kills and the Decimator did as well.

Capt. Oicunn is a fun guy, but his ability only triggers when he moves into some one. Anti-Pursuit lasers are a bit better especially if you are flying against low skill pilots. There is a upgrade (I forget which) that can actually reduce your PS to 0 for the activation phase, which would help you capitalize on his ability a bit more.

Kath isn't a bad call, but I personally would rather have more shots than dealing with handing out stress. The other thing to remember is that stress isn't too bad of a problem honestly, especially if the pilot already activated.

"I aim to misbehave"
"I find your lack of faith, disturbing."
"There's too many of them..." *static*

Problem is, he can't take it. One thing Oicunn's ability is good for is keeping opponents ut of the way. Then, use the Issard/PTL/Engine Upgrade combo to turn your ship into an arc-dodger.
