Anyone on these forums playing Norsgard? If so, what are your thoughts? Have your friends enjoyed it? How is it holding up?

I just got my 2 starters today and plan to hopefully start getting some games in in the next few weeks. I'm not expecting it to blow up at my local scene any time soon, given 1. the local meta is quite big and already spreading their time between a variety of games, new or new to them, 2. it's not available through retailers yet, and 3. I just don't have the time to dedicate pioneering a new game But I'm hoping to play small games w/ a few buddies of mine here and there, maybe being ahead of the curve if/when the game grows over the next few years. The world and aesthetic are absolutely awesome to me. I'm really hoping this game does well.

Sadly not had a chance to play yet either, so I'd be interested to hear as well

I loved the KS minis but didn't buy in for the reasons you're talking about.

Once I get a few games in, I'll try to remember to post here how the game performs and me and my friends' thoughts!

I agree Dr. -- down here a few hours south in Fresno CA we managed one game with proxied pre painted minis from Confrontation.

had a great time, but did not know the errata of the Red Chart so that threw us for a loop, and took a lot of extra game minutes. Regardless it is an engaging system.

I look forward to getting in a match with you -- perhaps we can do a coordinated battle report.

icy cold cheers,

So my first couple games in today. And I'll just say the game is amazing. The phases are fluid and there was little confusion on anything, mechanics-wise, save for a couple things (Vae Victis and pushback simultaneously, and if dying state models can crawl their 2" into combat or at least tie the enemy model up in combat). Shooting, spells, combat, etc are all pretty easy to grasp and the game still requires some pretty complex positioning and spellcasting tactics.

the guy I played w/ liked it so much he said he'd buy one of the factions off me - the Howling Horde (which is kinda fine by me cuz the guy who painted mine got a couple things wrong lol) - once I get a replacement army so I can keep demoing w/ others. I can then fund my Orcs, err, Scarlet Watch!

I'm demo'ing w/ another guy this Friday, he's already so interested he said he'll buy an army, but I think he'll really love it once he sees it come to life.

Kudos to Pawel.

the quickstart rules are pretty much the entire rulebook lol. But it's a pretty quick read.
