I want to buy an anggrath model, but idk if this is a recast. It's primed yet unassembled or painted which seems strange.

140$ for a primed model on eBay!
Holy crap that better be legit for that price.
....
Its hard to tell from the picture, bur generally recasters try to sell at alot cheaper than the regularly marked models so compare the prices.

But why prime it if your not doing nothing with it? The original model is like 240 I think off forge world. They said its legit but I don't want to dump my money on a fake for that price.

Look at their list of items for sale. See how they're selling a ton of used stuff? Some people make a business out of buying up cheap models from people who are getting out of the game/clearing out their kid's old toys at a garage sale/etc and reselling them for a profit. The current seller probably didn't prime it, they just bought it already-primed from someone who never got around to painting it.
Now, that said, it still might be a recast. But in this case it's probably a recast they picked up from a player, they aren't doing their own recasting work.

People like to prime over crappy paint jobs and then sell the model as 'primed.' It's often hard to tell in pictures, but the extra paint can obscure details.

The account also seems te sell a lot of legit models but, primed models are harder to recognize as recasts so be warned.
The negative and neutral comments should be a warning, at least some of the models he sells are most probally recasts.

On the positive side the seller profile does not look like the usual recaster profile at all. It just looks like the seller is not that careful, does not seem to care or does not have the best eye for recasts.
Availability 2 -> This could be kinda fishy since there is only one model shown. It could be that the model shown is not the actual model sold. Ask for detailed pictures of the actual model h is going to send. Ask specificly for shots of all mold lines, flash, small errors in casting and the underside of the " FW casting sprues", compare them to unboxings. Or post the pictures here.
I can't confirm nor deny if this is a recast or not with these low detail pictures of a model masked by black primer.

Grantham is pretty close to Nottingham, so this might be someone's staff-discount purchase.
Why anyone would prime before removing flash is a mystery, though.

I don't really see a big deal in using a recast over a "legit" model. If GW wasn't priced so ridiculously then you wouldn't see a plethora of black market minis available.

Quality comes to mind. If you can tell that its a recast it probably means that there is something wrong with it.

I completely disagree. I enjoy casting my own scratch build models, bases and terrain. There is almost noting as rewarding as having a regiment of your own sculpted models, they look great painted but you can always see that they are cast in an other way then FW or GW does when they are bare. This brings me to recasters who mostly use more professional casting methods then me. Sure their quality has to be a bit lower it is moulded from a cast instead of the original sculpt but, I'm quite certain that the loss of detail by good recasters isn't noticed by anyone. Most tells you can notice are things like a different but easy to remove mold line, mismatching casting material, some extra parts of sprue to help with the casting or some air bubbles in the base of the sprue. Those things don't have to affect the model at all. I'm quite sure that I can recognize recasts without there being something wrong with them that you could discover once I primed or painted it.
Poor copies are just horrible but those are usually not the ones we need to discuss about and usually not the ones sold as the real thing.
The issue with selling recasts as the real thing is that you (and the copy right owner) are being cheated. A new FW one costs ~200 euro excluding tax and transport while a new recasts from an popular recaster costs about ~50 euro. Selling recasts is one thing but selling a 50 euro knock off as a 200 euro original is just a cheap scam.
