I've been lurking here for many, many years, and I've... seen things... models so well painted I could hardly believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion; I've seen Terminators glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate...
Long time wargamer, board gamer, etc. Since I was maybe 7 when my best friend's older brother convinced us to play a D&D campaign with he and one of his friends. Good times. I've also been painting miniatures for 30 years, more or less, so if I decide to set sail, my stacks of boxes loaded with pewter miniatures will serve as an excellent ballast. Hell, it may sink the boat!
Currently in the early stages of a full blown Firestorm Armada addiction. Really like the simplicity of the system so my not-as-committed friends can learn it and have some fun chucking dice and chugging Guinness. That's the good news. The bad news is that I'm 12 models deep in a 4-fleet, 111 model painting project. If anyone cares, I'm a huge fan of Vallejo Game Color and Model Mates effects.
That's all for now, and thanks for having such an incredible site. One worth joining, for sure, in the sea of chaff.

Hi. Welcome to Dakka

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

I know!! I've been browsing stuff here for probably 6 years or so. Just never had cause to sign up until I became addicted to FSA. I've got a ton of WHFB and 40K models, but I use them for other games (praise the Emperor's name, may he forgive my heresy). Many moons ago I was a huge BFG player, huge fleets, but I kind of got tired of playing the same game, so I moved on, despite still finding "big space battles" as my preferred genre.
Thanks for the kind welcome!
