Greetings, Dakkadakka.
I'm Unusual Suspect (or some variation thereof) just about everywhere, so you might see me under a similar name on similar forums.
I'm from sunny southern California, though these days I spend about 3 months in southwestern Colorado a year. I'm currently a law student, which takes up the vast majority of my time these days (and probably should be taking up more).
I've been browsing dakkadakka haphazardly for years, more often than not to search for viewpoints (and presentations thereof) I would not have seen elsewhere on the 'net. Most recently, the rumors of the new Tau codex brought me sniffing for more information, and a relatively recent foray into Fantasy Flight Games
40k RPGs inclined me towards looking through/absorbing fluff and ideas from the
40k Lore subforum, here and elsewhere.
I got started in pen and paper games (mostly D&D 3.5) in college, but the graduation to wargames didn't take too long. After playing Dawn of War: Dark Crusade (and enjoying the Tau immensely), two members of my gaming group got the rest of us to try a few skirmishes with their models. It didn't take long for D&D to take a backseat to Sunday afternoons of
40k with 2-4 reliable friends on a fairly epic home-made board setup.
I have a mid-sized Tau army almost entirely from the 4th edition codex - the only exceptions are some converted Kroot in modified XV25 suits, a Barracuda, and a Kroot/Ork(still not sure myself) Titan-y thing frankenstein'd out of multiple Devilfish, modified Engines, and joints scavenged from an odd type of camera tripod/mount, and a Barracuda. I don't even have a Riptide yet - I'm back in school these days, and funds are just too limited.
I hope to get back into the game relatively soon, probably once the new Codex settles into the meta and I enter my third year of law school (I hear that's when I stop caring... this intrigues and disturbs me simultaneously).
Cheers, folks. I'll do my best to contribute where I can, when I can.
