I managed to get a hold of two of the "new" Deathstorm boxes and decided to start a Blood Angels army. I've had a Dark Angels army for years and I think BA would complement them well.

So, my question is at this point in time, after the news has settled, do I base them on the 32mm that came with the box? or dig out the old 25mm bases?

Since Deathstorm has a lot of "character" units. Ive considered just basing Raphen's Death Company on the larger bases and putting standard Death Company (and most other stuff) on the 25mm base.

Are bases in general shifting towards 32mm? Since Im starting a new army should I be considering doing it in 32mm? Its been a while simce Deathstorm came out. Id like thoughts about this.

I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice on this. Thanks,

If you are starting new, go 32. They just reboxed the stern/van vets on the larger bases. It looks to be the way forward.

I can understand not wanting to rebase all of an old army, and want to keep things consistent. But from scratch, you might as well embrace the larger bases.

I started BA on top of my previous Nids with 3x Deathstorms a while ago.

I got some cheap poly resin and 32mm plastics on ebay. It's worth it! 25mm looks kinda cack for some models. Jump pack Deathcompany definitely need 32mm imo.

And i may even put my Sanguinor on 40mm!

I would recommend against ba. Da black knights are better than any ba unit hands down.

No question. Take 32mm bases. Its so easy when you buy BA Tacticals. The army looks much better on larger bases.

I was in two minds too, but I personally think marines look so much better on the 32mm bases. And perspective wise it makes the models look bigger when you place them next to 25mm based models too.

Bit of a pain to rebase some models (as I'm finding out) but if you're starting out, I'd go straight to 32mm.

Go 32mm, I've been putting some marines on them and the space makes so much difference to how they look. They feel cramped on the 25mm.

Go 32 mm. It makes them look so much better

Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Recommend 32 mm as well.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

Since BA Tacticals with 32 mm bases came out, I put all infantry models on 32 mm bases.

You may as well go 32 if your starting out. They do look better IMO too, as others have said it helps the marines look more imposing and of a better scale.

Wow! Thats for the comments. They're well appreciated!

It looks like Marines are the only army getting this "renovation". I also have the Nids from Deathstorm but won't have to worry about getting a bigger base size for them. (i hope)

My tip would be to get 32mm bases, buy some Space Marines, paint them as White Scars, and win games.
