Hello! i am trying to make a army of old space marines and i am wondering wich would be more green. Forge world for everything or going on ebay and hunting old RT models?

Forge World is about as expensive as this hobby gets. Ebay is cheaper by miles. And a lot of the old models go for really cheap. Usually they're smaller than current models, have no easy variety or conversion options, have been painted with the really crap paints of yesteryear and just are worse quality. Not many people want them. RT MKV Armor is prolly one of the ugliest things people can make a game out of...

IME, people usually demand alot of money for OOP models, especially ones that have been OOP for a long time. Availability will also be an issue. You may find the odd RT model here and there, but collecting enough to build an army I suspect will be more difficult.

Might actually be cheaper to go FW, but not 100% sure.

That's funny. Two very different answers... My guess is that it depends on when you look and not any actual set pattern.

Yes, I should say I claim no expertise on this. Only when I was looking on ebay for OOP models (not RT marines), it was hard to find them, and when I did, the competition drove the bidding up very quickly.

My advice is to take a trip over to ebay, search for what you're after, and see what the ebay market is like at present, then compare to what you'd pay for what you're after at the FW website.

This is the sort of thing that I keep seeing. I'm pretty sure this is either RT or 2nd Edition. I want to say RT though. Just going to add that it is about $2 nit including shipping when I copied the link.
