Greetings! I am a new player to 40K, planning on starting an army of Grey Knights. I'm hoping to optimize my army against a friend of mine who plays Tau.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the units of the game and what I could use. I currently have a 5 man strike squad set, the Rulebook, and the codex but am not too sure whether to assemble a Purgation squad, a Strike squad, an Interceptor squad, or Purifiers.

Also is it true that jump units (such as Interceptors) cannot use transport units such as Rhinos?

I've dabbled with the odd grey knight list, I've personally had a decent amount of luck running two dreadknights, 2 x 5 man terminator squads with a hammer and psycannon. A librarian with demon hammer and an interceptor squad with hammer and incinerator.

IIRC Interceptors are jump infantry so will take up 2 spots per model in a transport. so you can load up a 5m group in a rhino, however they can't buy a rhino as a dedicated transport.
