Not even slightly.
Most armies have an HQ worth something in some way, but Centurions are limited to one special weapon, on foot. Bikes are incredibly overcosted, Heavy Support slots are at the highest premium of any army I have ever encountered and there is nothing there that isn't better served with Imperial Guard allied to vanilla Marines.
I love Tyrant's Legion, but it is not meant to be competitive. It is meant to be a good time and a fun representation of the Astral Claws. The way the game has gone does not match up with what Tyrant's Legion tries to do.

Yeahhh, they have some of the worst units in the game. The Corpse Taker might take the cake, as he's a 30pt marine with a Narthecium in a unit of servitors at regular cost but are armed only with chainswords, and has a special rule that is both really situational based on mission type and that isn't particularly useful anyway.

I forgot about the Corpse Taker... If they had just made it an Independent Character with the OPTION of having Servitors, like a Techmarine can do, that'd be a good unit. I honestly can't think of a time anyone would take that unit by choice.

As someone who uses a Tyrant's Legion, I can confirm that it is appallingly bad. I makes CSM look like a top tier list.
Great fluff though.

Aye, had some wicked fun with the list, never won with it though. Allying in stuff from Imperial Armour 2 can alleviate some problems, but not many. The Blood Pride squadron is also good (BS4 baneblade or stormsword + all vehicles in the formation get bonuses when stabbing units in the back targeting rear armour)! Expect a good thrashing when using it. But, you'll loose with style

Just run Marines with IG allies. It's basically the same but with more options and properly priced units. It should be noted that Tyrant's Legion was a 5th ed. army, so it was pre-allies. Having Marines and IG in one army was a bigger deal back then.

You're better off taking a Space Marines list with an IG detachment.
