Howdy y'all,
This is my first post on Dakka, but I've lurked here for quite a while. I dabble heavily in rules writing, and after many rather abortive projects that stopped just shy of completion and publication, I have finished the first edition of a game I call Galaxia. It is focused on modelling simplified orbital dynamics (think Kerbal Space Program in wargame form), with maneuvering, timing coordination of salvos, and fuel management key to success. Galaxia is a bit of an extreme reaction to "wet navy in space" rules such as Full Thrust, that effectively play out like WW2 naval games. I guarantee that it is nothing like any other wargame you've ever played!
Cost of entry has deliberately been kept low. The PDF rulebook is sold for $15.00, and enough fighters and strikers (bomber-sized, multi-crew FTL strike craft that perform most power-projection in the Galaxia universe) for a solid game can be purchased for well under $75.
This is only the first revision, so the rulebook may be a bit rough, but you can rest assured that corrections, clarifications, and
FAQ will be provided rapidly. Comments, questions, and other feedback are welcome; you will receive Unconventional Wargaming's contact email address after purchase of the rules.
