That's canon, not "cannon". One goes "BOOM!" the other reads well.

Was sorting out some of my BL books and thinking of what I might get rid of, keep etc. There are some excellent writers and stories there, IMHO. But just as importantly, what are the most important Black Library books for Warhammer Fantasy? In other words, which books have provided indispensable background that is just central to the WHF world?

I have opinions, of course, but am more interested in yours! Thanks for your interesting replies, and for helping me downsize a bit.

Same here, downsizing my old WHF collection (just sold Orion trilogy a few days ago).

Though these I'm definitely keeping:

"Thunder and Steel" omnibus (mainly because of "Riders of the Dead")
"Sigvald"
"Van Horstmann"
"Vampire Wars" omnibus.

For me:

The Time of Legends books:

Especially The Elf /Dwarf Wars books, the Sundering, Nagash, Neferata. Sigmar Trilogy - especially the final one

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001
