Hi all,

Not sure if this is more of a rules or tactics question really.

As far as I know, the vendetta gunship is capable of hovering, and you can deploy it from the start in hover mode and then switch to zooming once you start.

However, most Guard players seem to keep their vendettas in reserve anyway. What is the point of this? Aren't you just losing a turn of shooting for no reason?

You you should know that while (as I'm you just read in the BRB) you can't start a flyer on the table in hover normally, there are special rules for the skyshield that let you start a flyer on it.

There is a distinct tactical disadvantage to this in that enemy flyers can come on the table and target you immediately.

Well what you COULD do is purchase a skyshield landing pad, then upgrade it with "ready for takeoff", which WILL start a vendetta on the field T1.
