So my core detachment centers around a Command squad(grav, storm shields, bikes, Apothecary) running with a chapter master(bike, thunder hammer, shield eternal). I also have a couple of scout squads(snipers, camp cloaks)

I have this paired with a small skyhammer annihilation force. 2 assault squads(chainswords, bolt pistols) 10 man devastators (4 grav), and 5 man devastators (4 multimeltas)

I'm trying to come up with a good allied detachment to compliment my current list. I've been thinking about Grey Knights, and using a dreadknight. Imperial knights and Ravenwings have also been suggested.

In any case, I think I want a good close combat option.

Well from what I am reading Maelstrom is all about objectives. You really have nothing to hold objectives. Maybe some IG to hold your own objectives?

You could add some models and versatility with Inquisition. Henchman squads can run with crusaders, flagellants, and deathcult assassins. Hide a psyker or two in there and roll for invisibility if you want. Throw in a Malleus Inquisitor with a daemon hammer.

Alternatively, Jokero and Acolytes with Plasma Guns, precience psykers, Inquisitor with Conversion Beamer.

Just saying, versatile units, useful psychic, variety of delivery options, and generally cheap while addressing your low model count.
