I wrote up this scenario for use at my FLGS, since I asked around and found some interest in running a larger Narrative. I am sharing the scenario, and I will post battle reports once the guys play through it on Sunday.
Chapter 1: Mysterious Power Signature
While on a Routine patrol, your ships sensors detected a strange anomaly in the standard energy signatures of a nearby system. As your ship drops out of warp, you detect an enemy vessel, likely drawn to the same power signature you are. Can you find the origin before your enemies or will they gain the edge in the sector?
Fleet restrictions: Each player has 50 SP for ships, with 1 ship max with a hull of 4 or less.
Set up: Each player is give a Planet token to place no closer than Range 1 from the edge and at least range 2 from each other, and range two from the Objective token. Player with initiative places the first planet. The Objective token is placed in the center. Place 5 mission tokens on the side of the board. Set up as normal.
Objectives: Destroy the enemy ship before they can complete their scans. During the activation phase, a ship within range 1-2 of the Objective token may give up its action to “scan” the objective, and determine the anomaly’s origin. When giving up an action this way, the ship cannot take any free actions either. Each time a ship does this that player takes a mission token and places it beside their ship card. The first player to gather 3 tokens is granted 20 points.
Ramifications: Having secured the location, your ship reports back to the nearest starbase for needed repairs. With the information in hand, your faction has gained a slight edge on finding out what exactly this mysterious power signature means.
As the narrative progresses, each faction will gain Battle points, based on the place that they ended up in. After a faction gains a set number of Battle Points, a major battle will be triggered.

this sounds really fun. Will each player be playing a different faction? i am just curious because i would love to run something like this as well at my lgs or even at home with a few of my friends.

"Travellin' through space is boring. Well, boring unless da hulk yer on is full of dem gene-sneakers, or a base fer da chaos lads wiv da spikes, or already has Boyz on it. Or if humie lootas come callin', that's always good fer a bit a sport. Or unless yer have a mutiny or two to pass da time, or unless strange fings start happenin', which dey usually do when yer out in da warp. One time we had some bloody great ugly fing come straight out of Weird Lugwort's 'ed! It butchered half da lads, that was pretty entertainin'. Come ter fink of it, space is a pretty good larf. And that's before yer find yerself a nice world ta crush!"

Turned out to be three Feds and a Klingon, but only one player did the objective.
I ended up with some personal stuff coming up, and since each player had only one ship, the games moved quick (35 min time limit, every game was done in 20 or less).
Everyone had a blast, and I am plotting my next chapter. Currently thinking of going with 75 points, two ship minimum, total hull value of both ships combined being some smallish number, like 8 or 9, 10 at most.
Right Now, the Federation has a single battle point, and I think at five they will launch a major offensive, or have to defend against one. Automatically Appended Next Post: If you plan on running this, I recommend adjusting the value of the hull down to 3: for 4 hull, the Feds carry the day, and it basically discourages most people from running anything else.
