So i was wondering if someone could help me clarify something for chaos in 7th edition, does a unit of chaos cultists have get an additional CCW if they have pistols equiped? this program im using isn't clarifying if whether or not they get one so I'd like to know if they get the +1 to their total attacks for having 2 CCWs.

This is not that type of website. You are expected to purchase your own rules to play the game. If you don't do that, and some people don't, that's your business but you shouldn't ask folks to help you skip out on buying the codex. Dakka is not a replacement for a rulebook. I'm pretty sure that's written somewhere. Sadly, there's no legitimate digital CSM codex unless it's available on GW's website. But that's not a PDF.

Yes if they have a pistol in one hand and something stabby in the other they get two. If they have an auto gun no, I dont think you can add a pistol with an auto gun for them. And yes buy the codex.

For Clarity:

Cultist with autopistol also has a close-combat weapon = Total of 2 close-combat weapons.

Cultist with autogun also has a close-combat weapon. The autogun is not usable in close combat = Total of 1 close-combat weapons.

As for a .pdf codex, this site and many people don't support activities that are deemed illegal - you need to be in a gaming group with others who are like-minded or risk downloads from dodgy websites.

I recommend a cheap version off eBay or, as rumours suggest a new Chaos Codex soon, use a program like Battlescribe as a reference

Thousand Sons: 3850pts / Space Marines Deathwatch 5000pts / Dark Eldar Webway Corsairs 2000pts / Scrapheap Challenged Orks 1500pts / Black Death 1500pts

Saga: (Vikings, Normans, Anglo Danes, Irish, Scots, Late Romans, Huns and Anglo Saxons), Lion Rampant, Ronin: (Bushi x2, Sohei), Frostgrave: (Enchanter, Thaumaturge, Illusionist)

Thanks, I thought that was the case.

and I wasnt really thinking of legality, I've been looking for something that at least resembles the codex so I can at least have a reference to make certain decisions, as its been really difficult for me to find the exact meaning of certain terms as well as the effects of certain abilities. I do intend on buying the physical codex itself.

Possibly by Q1-Q2, although I wouldn't bet on those rumors.

Well with GWs current update schedule, including the fact that most other major factions have had an update twice since CSM's update, and whether or not the sun is shining too bright inside the Legion of Doom GW's Headquarters, We may get our update anytime between the start of the next year and never. My assumption is we'll get the next CSM codex right after they finish working on an all plastic sisters and squats line.

"Because we couldn't be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We've all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we've all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher's Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.

The Wolves will always come to the heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn't behave that way. Only a dog does.

That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Here's a link to Battlescribe.

I use it as a sort-of codex for army building without a codex to hand. It helps if you have an actual codex for quick reference, but it's relatively easy to work things out prior to any codex purchase

yep i've been using that for a while now. it just sometimes doesnt give the definition for certain terms and it's been a little of a pain finding what they mean.

Never use battlescribe in place of a codex. Its a good place to store and make lists, but should not be referred to for rules purposes.

But in general, if a model has a pistol and a close combat weapon then they get an extra attack in close combat in addition to the "A" characteristic on their profile.
