Just had a marketing email from black library declaring that the series will move towards it's inevitable conclusion in 2016. Hopefully this means that they have abandoned the intention of eeking it out for another two decades, and we might be near terra in 12 months time.

While it does say so, I've got a feeling it will be stretched out across a fair few novels.

Good lord, I hope so. They've nearly killed it dragging the corpse for so long with no forward movement.

Good god I agree! The first handful set a high bar, had some strong momentum.... and then it just stopped moving. Wheels spinning for no reason!
And this new release method made it worse. Hardcover, tradr, then finally Mass Market... it is rough.

After they sold me repackage stories as 'new' and the lack of forward momentum I've stopped buying them completely. It was a embarrassingly poor death for a series that started so well.
Care zero feths about anything by certain authors as well after some of the entries in the series

Like the one about Fulgrim... the whole torture porn thing was off-putting.

I don't believe this is really the end.
It's like WoW when they said they won't be making another expansion....after a decade, they're still going.
I'd be more inclined to believe this is just a money move to get people re-interested because it will come to an end.
Then they'll start up 'Post Heresy' and all the conflicts thereafter. Or why not the Great Crusade...
This pattern may just continue for decades to come and revisit certain eras for a time too.

Age of Sigmar - It's sorta like a clogged toilet, where the muck crests over the rim and onto the floor. Somehow 'ground marines' were created from this...

They also have the scouring, Legion wars in the eye (already started that), age of apostasy, plenty of scope for big series, none, however, will match the heresy in scope.
