Discordapp is a neat chat client which has both web-browser and application versions. It can be organized into several different sub-chatrooms, has ranks, and is overall pretty nifty. I think it would be a great place just to hang out and chat about whatever. It's free (AFAIK) to start up a server. I know I'd log on a lot just to see what's going on.
