I have been meaning to make some kind of German army for ages but I have never gotten around to it, I have also been meaning to try out airbrushing so Armoured Panzergrenadiers seem like a good place to start.
I want to make a full Platoon so I would need to make a 1500 list and it seems that only Waffen SS squads have access to 2 LMGs so I will have to use their entry although these are intended to be Heer troops.
Veteran Oberleutant with attendant
Waffen SS squad 1.
8 men 2x LMGs, 2x Panzerfaust, 1x Assault rifle
Hannomag (regular)
Waffen SS squad 2.
8 men 2x LMGs, 2x Panzerfaust, 1x SMG
Hannomag (regular)
Waffen SS squad 3.
8 men 2x LMGs, 1x Panzerfaust, 1x Assault rifle
Hannomag (regular)
Veteran MMG
Veteran MMG
Veteran Panzershrek team
Hannomag (regular) - this will be transporting all my support weapons
Pz IV G (regular)
SdKfz 222 (Regular)
This is intended more of a modelling project than a wargaming army but it will probably also see the table occasionally so I have a couple of questions.
Firstly, can I fit all my support weapons in a single halftrack given that they are all separate entry's?
Is there any point (in game terms) of taking veteran over regular vehicles aside from the morale benefit?
Given that this army is much more effective when static are the nearly 400 points of transports a bad idea (in game terms)?
Can the transports fire their MG even when not transporting troops? It doesn't look like it from the rules even though they had a dedicated gunner in reality....
