time came for me to move to UK, to London this month. I am looking for some places to play 40k in west, north west london. I already know there is Dark Sphere in central London, also in my reach. Some time ago i found some Gaming club in central London, Watford, found even some in Chiswick(at least they were trying to start one, but that was some time ago). But as life goes on, clubs seize to exist or players move to other places. I am looking for some up to date info on what going on in London.

With time i might be even interested in Malifaux and Infinity also.

I'm afraid west London seems to be a bit of a wasteland for gaming. I don't play 40k anymore so I can't help there, but I head to Dark Sphere every week for my malifaux fix, there's a really good community. Seen quite a lot of people playing Infinity there too.

Thx for info. Well that's a surprise for me. I always thought London will be full of that stuff..what's more surprising I found only one LGS - the Dark Sphere..aside of few GW stores it's close to nothing for city of that size. :( As far as I heard reasonable in London is travel up to 1h so central London is in my reach also..

there are a few games stores , Darksphere is by far the largest , there is Warboar in South London , and Leisure Games in the North.

travel in London , by tube is roughly an hour across from West to East

DS is by far the biggest choice , but there are loads out there....dont despair

Just to emphasise what Synthetik said, there's plenty of stuff out there, it just isn't in the west/NW. Where abouts are you in London.

DS is about 50 minutes on the tube for me, which is not too bad, and if I'm getting a couple of games in then I really don't mind the travel.

well for now I'll be staying in Northolt and I am willing to travel(just area looks not very tube friendly). As far as google says i have around 10 minuts bus drive to nearest tube station (central line) to go to central London, not sure on other lines thou. But..1 h travel is reasonable for London size, right?

An hour sounds about right from there, yeah. I think there's a club out in uxbridge too, or at least there was a few years ago. The only problem was getting there, with rush hour traffic I was sitting on the bus for at least an hour, so it was quicker getting to DS.

in NorthHolt itself , maybe you could ask them for a quiet corner and get a game in , at least it will be sympathetic...

HATE is a decent bet, although as you say it is not the closest. I go there most weeks and I live in Wimbledon, but it is worth it.

Dark Sphere is my usual shopping destination, though I very rarely choose to play games there. The staff are friendly though, and they have the FLGS vibe despite being in a large premises.

Is there in London any other store having better prices than DS? ( or even online store) need to update my army.. probably will get something on my first visit in DS

I haven't found one. The prices on DS webstore are slightly cheaper than in the shop, so if you know in advance what you want, you can order them for store pick-up and save a little bit more. I think the discount on GW is 20% in store and 25% online, which is pretty standard.


Oh, and if you're looking for games, facebook is the best way to arrange them. This is the GW page https://www.facebook.com/groups/darkspheregamesworkshop/ It's members only, but if you ask to join they're usually pretty quick about approving.

I already checked DS www. I saw they have lower prices if ordering online, but thats good to know that i can even pick my order in the store.
