Wondering if anyone else has seen or is playing this. It's currently on Steam for $10 US and I've been having a blast with it. It's literally a tabletop simulator, where you can play board games or even miniature games if so inclined.

Since two of my best gaming buddies live interstate now and others have kids, we've really struggled to get together for gaming. Mostly we use it for board games but I've seen people on there playing 40k and X-Wing. The best part is that all mods (such as pictured below) are free. It's a bit finicky but you get the hang of it in a few minutes. Even making your own cards and dice is pretty easy.

Warning, big images in the spoilers.

Anyway, thought Dakka might enjoy it. I strongly suggest checking it out.

How accurate is it to actual 40k? I'll admit, my interest is piqued.

I play TTS a TON with friends lately. We use it for Shadowrun Crossfire, Shadows of Brimstone, XIA: Legends of a Drift System and a few other games. I own all the games but when my friends are hours away, getting together in person to play is considerably more difficult. It's also great for campaign games like Shadows of Brimstone or Shadowrun Crossfire, since you can save the state of the game (cards, tokens, upgrades, etc.).

I haven't played D&D or 40k/X-Wing over TTS yet. I've previously used Vassal for 40k and X-Wing, and used Google Hangouts for D&D/SW EotE. I could see using TTS for either, but it lacks the functionality of something like Roll20.net for long term RPG campaigning.

To be clear, for 40k it doesn't actually handle rules or rolls at all. It simply provides you with a table and to-scale figures to be moved around the sandbox physics engine. You can also get terrain and templates and such. But handling of rules and stuff is still handled person to person.

Well, with neither my or friend or myself knowing much beyond the sheer basics of 40k TT, we did a makeshift RPG DnD-esque game, using 40k models, which was a ton of fun with this.
