A few people I know are doing a slow-grow campaign for 30k so we can all build up our armies and get used to the rules. We're starting out at 500 Points and I was hoping for some feedback on my list and tactical ideas for the game. I'm fairly new to 30K and low point games so I'm not sure if what I have is a good start or not. The list is legal for the modified rules we're using for this first game.

Spoiler:
HQ
Centurion - Terminator armor, Banestrike Rounds, Power Dagger, Power Fist, Delegatus (Pride of the Legion) - 125 Points

Troops
Legion Terminator Squad - Sgt w/ Banestrike Rounds, Power Dagger & Power Fist, 3 Terminators 2/ Banestrike Rounds, 1 Terminator w/ Plasma Blaster - 220 Points

Elites
Apothecary - Artificer Armor - 55 Points

Fast Attack
Attack Bike Squadron - 2 Attack Bikes w/ Multimeltas - 100 Points

Total Points - 500

My idea is to put the apothecary, centurion, and Terminators together and use Mutable Tactics to give them either infiltrate or tank hunter (Depending on the army I'm facing). The Multimelta bikes should use Mutable Tactics to scout up and hopefully pop whatever armor they have T1 (We're playing this mission on a 4x4 board).

I have yet to play any games of 30k and I've only ever played combat patrol once (And that was with Orks). To me, this seems like I'm going light on the forces I can bring as I'm sure other people will have larger blobs of tactical or support marines. I took the Banestrike ammo to even that out a bit, but I'm not sure it's enough. I don't have much 30k models to work with (Hence why I started with using Pride of the Legion), but I have a large 40K SM force I can pull from to proxy. Any advice on tweaking this list, tactics to consider, or places to focus on going forward I would really appreciate.

Thanks!

Only 500 points?
Your playing Heresy! Go big or Go home!

Anyway, i would say for ypu to swap out your Delegatus for Autilon Skorr (who is the same points cost)
As he is a Delegatus and can choose his (Strategic) Warlord Trait, he also comes with Artificer Armour and a Power Axe

Now to expand your army, you are looking to start at 2500 points
Alpharius is also a good addition
And make sure to take Coils of the Hydra!

Haha, the intent is to go up to higher point games in time. My loose plan for 2,500 has been to use Alpharius and coils to lock out reserves. Having some Tyrant Siege Terminators or Pyroclasts would also be nice!

And I would love to take Skorr, but for the first game we can't use any named HQ units. Once we bump up to 1000 points for game 2, I plan to swap him in for my consul.

well, I like it (though to small, booo ) from here, I'd go wherever you want really. 30k is seemingly less competitive and gives you more room to bring what you think looks cool. When I played alpha legion I liked the larger blobs of tacticals and using mutable tactics to just get into that "rapid fire fury of the legion" zone with even less casualties. but one of the joys of AL is that basically any and all army builds can be made viable because of alpharius' buffs and their general legion rules.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.
