I dunno, an army just doesn't feel like a fully fleshed-out army without at least a few notable dramatis personae. So, in the spirit of keeping things interesting, why not a thread about those *notable* notables for the contemporary AdMech?

The first thing I can imagine would be turning The Skull of Elder Nikola from a relic item into his own special character Servo-Skull with the ability to move to-and-from different locations. All his weapons would have the Tesla/Taser Rule, and he would have special abilities allowing him to supercharge units using electric attacks ("At the start of the phase, nominate a unit within 12", that unit's tesla/taser attacks trigger Tesla on a 5 or 6, to grant Hammer of Wrath, teleforce (movement powers, etc). If you catch him in melee, the skull is pretty hosed.

The question becomes whom else is a notable Admech character? Genetor Lukas Anzion is an expert in Ork biology, but the rest could stand to be filled in, especially since Arkhan Land is long gone. There's a bit of HK-47 fanboy in me that is amused by the idea of a lone Sicaran that developed a sense of morbid humor about meatbags, etc.

Canada

the problem with doing so means that admech largely dont live lives worthy of heroes. there are no tactical masters, or veterans of a thousand battles with laurels so mounded they could sleep on them and smell like olive plants the next morning

there are simply numerically superior, coded better or better implant/bionic enhancement packages. and while some live longer they dont offer much of an advantage.

i think a cooler concept would be special units. admech veterans that just keep coming back from wars of attrition, for example a group of kataphrons that are made from adeptus astartes prisoners of the inquisition turned over after being deemed expendable. that have become hand picked bodyguards for domus enginseers or high level techpriests.

or infiltraitors that have had extensive customization and packages that have made them adept at hunting and lsying orc warbosses and lesser chieftens

or maybe a group of dragoons that have had enhancements for faster speeds.

Eh, there's room for a few Admech heroes.

One with a super-powerful gun he found on a planet somewheres with no idea how to work it, give him a chart like a shokk attack gun.

One that's turned completely to robotics, a dreadnought-sized monster with preferred enemy (Everything!) because the flesh is weak.

One that's all into bio-sculpting, he can buff a certain number of troop units with extra toughness or strength or somesuch.

A fanatic that can't stand all this xeno tech-heresy, so he's got a bunch of stuff that gives him tank and monster hunter.
