I created it with Antoine Roffé (Skulls Mini) and it was illustrated by Kev
DC which worked with me on my previous game, Color Warz : Dark Threat.
So what is Gob'z'Heroes ?
The miniatures
At first, it is a skirmish board game made for 2 players (even if you can play at 3 and 4) including miniatures. So I will start by talking about the minis.
I can tell you that the miniatures are really greats ! As FLUO Games owner, I have published 25 high detailed resin miniatures with my team (Rémy Tremblay, Stéphane N'Guyen, Gael Goumon and Valentin Zack). Our miniatures were really amazing but those ones, more to be perfect designed are really resistant (as plastic) even if they are in resin. This is so much an important thing to play.
They are very simple to assemble because most of them are in one part. If I did not tell mistakes, all the minis included in the game box doesn't need to be assembled. Other minis has one, two or three parts but are very easy to build.
The Game
So now, let's talk about the game !
We are talking about a "true" game. Antoine asked me to design a game to play with the miniatures he made with is first IndieGoGo campaign last year (Brik A Brak). So I did so.
I worked in two times : making the game concept and creating a Gob generator for making balanced gob.
Regarding the game mechanics, it is quite simple.
Each player (the starter box allows to play 2 at players), has to choose which Gobz he want to put to his Crew.
The main goal is to win Victory Points.
For doing that, you can tickle, stun or knock out your opponents.
You can also release your secret goal or beat stunned opponents.
In fact, there is many ways to win Victory Points.
One of the twist of the game is the Charisma system.
Each turn, you must define the most Charismatic Gob in your team.
It will allow you to play a part of your team.
A knocked out Gob or a stunted Gob Charisma can't be used so be careful of your most Charismatic Gob.
Another original point is the battle mechanism.
We play brawls with dices. So you must launch a 6 sided dice to define if you touch or not. As basic profile, a Gobz touch on a 4 or plus.
If you make a touch, you compare the Physical Skills of both Gobz and the result (tickle, stun or
KO).
Note that the Physical skill represent your strength (when you beat) and your resistance (when your are under attack) at the same tim. Very simple.
There are other things like combo card, weapons, map details, etc but for now, I just wanted to give you a quick review of the game.
About the Gobz profiles
Each Gob has a specific profile (and a miniature).
We have 4 basic parameters : Movement, Charisma, Rations and Physical Ability.
And also Common and Special skills (each Gobz has its own) plus items like weapons and armors.
Each parameter is take in count to publish a balanced profile, even the power level of the Special skill for example or the "malus" (negative skill). Everything is take in count so you may be sure that the game mechanic is oiled.
Conclusion
I tried to make a dynamic game with tactic of course but also fun and good mood. I hope you will enjoy it.
