So, A few days ago I decided to try and focus on one army.. I have already failed so now I am trying to focus on the 4 playable armies I own instead and I was looking at my Guard army, I like them, But I struggle with them.. So I was curious, what works in the current Imperial Guard codex? How do you build a good, balanced list? I like infantry, But two 30 man blobs seems squishy, And I dont wanna spam leman russ tanks..

Avoid: anything that goes in the Elite slots with the possible exception of Stormtroopers. Basilisks if not using the Mont'ka artillery command formation. Any special character that's not Pask and possibly Yarrick. Lord Commissars. Mortars and heavy bolters on HWTs. Main Battle Tanks.

30 man blobs are squishy...kinda. Tack on psykers/Inquisitors to hand out shrouded/invuln saves.
