I'm interested in learning 40k and was hoping to find some folks willing to take on a new player in Queens NY.

When I say new, I mean NEW. I have a rulebook and that's about it. Not even sure which faction I want to buy into.

Not sure where you are in Queens but there is a LGS in Lynbrook in Nassau county that I play at. Mostly friendly people.

If you can get into Manhattan easily there's a GW store on 8th street and Broadway where they can help get you started.

After that you might want to check the Compleat Strategist on 33rd and 5th, there's a miniatures club there called the Warmongers.

Thought I might necro this thread to say I am also a new old gamer (played as a kid in 2nd, but freshly back for 7th) living in Queens and looking for people to play with. I am well aware of the GW store, NuBrand and others...but come on this is NYC I am seriously hoping I can find a higher density of players closer to home. Which for me is Astoria. NYC is pretty dead.

Long island seems pretty dead for 40k as well. I have no interest in playing it that much anymore. Sigh, i am dark elder player from long island.

I am not sure if the dudes in queens play anymore either.

Your best bet is lynbrook but i am not sure how big the scene is.
