Subject: Yet another Chaos Space Marine Supplement: Iron Warriors
The sons of Perturabo are one of my favourite legions, pre and post heresy, so I've come up with a lot of formations and ideas over the years and thought I'd post em. I know they're already fairly popular and others probably posted something similar, but hey, why not:
Spoiler:
Iron Warriors Legion:
An Iron Warriors Legion Army is selected using the units from Codex: Chaos Space Marines with the following exceptions:
Chaos Havocs are Troop Choices instead of Heavy Support Choices. The Chaos Space Marine Unit Datasheet cannot be selected.
Chaos Obliterators are Elite Choices instead of Heavy Support Choices.
You can select up to 3 vehicles of the same type for each Slot (so you can select 3 Predators for 1 heavy support slot, but not 2 predators and 1 vindicator for 1 heavy support slot). This does not make them a Squadron (and therefore cannot be used in formations to select additional "squadron members") and does not apply to Dedicated Transports. Each unit otherwise retain all options and should be treated normally.
The Veterans of the Long War upgrade must be taken on all models that can do so, but also grants reroll to morale checks.
Warlord Traits:
1 - Iron Within, Iron Without: The Warlord as Eternal Warrior and Adamantine Will
2 - Master of the Dark Forge: The Warlord can nominate one vehicle model at the end of every turn. This vehicle has IWND and Daemonforged Rule until the end of the next player turn. On vehicles that already have one or both of these rules, this ability has no effect.
3 - Siegemaster: Select D3 pieces of terrain on the field; these have +1 to their cover saves. If you select a Fortification you have purchased, it instead grants +2 to the cover save. Stealth and Shroud cannot be used within these pieces of terrain.
4 - Dark Artificer: Nominate D6 weapons in your army used by non-vehicle models; these all have the master crafted rule and lose the Gets Hot! rule if they have it.
5 - Saboteur: Select D3 pieces of terrain on the field; these have -1 to their cover saves. If you select a Fortification your opponent have purchased, it instead has -2 to the cover save.
6 - Master of Ordinance: At the beginning of every one of your shooting phases, nominate one friendly vehicle within 6". Any Ordinance or Barrage Weapons fired by it only has to roll 1D6 instead of 2D6 for scatter.
Inferno Artefacts: Any model with access to the Chaos Artefacts can instead select one item from the following list. Note that you can only select each item once per army; there is only one such item in the galaxy!
30pts - Kai Gun; A long forgotten weapon from a bygone age, the Artificers of Kai forged a massive bolter powered my arcane sorceries. Twice the height of a man and thrice as heavy, a Kai Gun can only be wielded by the fallen demigods. A Kai Gun is a Daemon Weapon and has the following profile:
Kai Gun 24" S6 AP2 Assault Daemon Weapon (Roll a D6 to determine the number of shots for this weapon. On a roll of a 1, the gun attacks the user and cannot be fired. The user must pass a leadership test or suffer a wound with no armor saves allowed. On a 2+, the gun fires as normal with the rolled number of shots)
60pts - The Tyrant's Armor: An ancient suit of Tyrant Siege Terminator armor, an ancient piece from the Days of the Heresy. It has been heavily modified since, but retains it's trademark Cyclone launchers. The Tyrant's Armor is considered to be a suit of Terminator Armor (with all of the restrictions) with a 4+ Invulnerable Save instead of 5+ and IWND. In addition, it incorporates a SINGLE Havoc Launcher that can be fired in addition to the wearer's other weapons. This cannot be taken by a Warpsmith or Daemon Princes.
35pts - Tendrils of Olympia: A set of mechandrites dating back to the birthplace of the Iron Warriors. These function as Mechatendrils and grants the Master of Mechanisms rule. In addition, add +1 to the Repair ability of Master of Mechanisms. This is not a WeaponCannot be taken by Warpsmiths.
20pts - Everliving Arm: A bio-metal arm supposedly forged from Necron's Necrodermis. The user has the Mutilator Weapons rule, but can still select weapons and choose to use those instead of the Mutilator Weapon. The user may never claim the +1 attack for being armed with 2 weapons, even with the Mutilator Weapons rule.
10pts - Scion of the Iron Cage: An ancient bolter dating back to the heresy, it is said that this bolter was used to ensure the extermination of the Imperial Fist geneseed and assured the ascension of Perturabo. It is a Master-crafted Bolter that is Assault 4 and AP4. If the enemy is from the Imperial Fist Chapter, they have Hatred against the wielder.
Formations:
Cult Obliteratii:
3-5 Units of Obliterators (each squad of Obliterators must be at 3 models)
1 Warpsmith
Special Rules: Fearless, Oath of the Forge
Oath of the Forge: Obliterators no longer have to switch weapons each turn.
Siege Terminators:
2-5 Units of Chaos Terminators. (They must have at least 5 models in each unit. Each model must have a Reaper Autocannon at the point cost listed, even though this is normally not possible).
1 Chaos Lord (must have Terminator Armor or The Tyrant's Armor)
Special Rules: Fear, Pinning, Shred
Vindicator Siegebreaker Squadron:
3-6 Vindicators. They must be all in a squadron and must all take Daemonic possession.
1 Warpsmith
Special Rules: Daemonforge, IWND, Quake
Quake: Any unit hit by a demolisher cannon from this formation is pinned and count the terrain as Difficult Terrain for the next turn. If they cannot be pinned or if they're already in Difficult Terrain, this rule has no further effect.
I'm still working on a lot of this but hey, it's for fun.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
