Greyknights seem to be good at squashing everything except SM. I could use Skitarii Vanguard and onagers which have access to loads of ap 2 , Cult Grav, or Eldar Wraith and Dark Elder reaver bikes, any opinions?

Grey Knights was my first army, I feel your pain. I've been told on numerous occasions to bring in just bodies like AM Guardsmen. GK pack a punch and you just need some cheap bodies to fill in the gaps since its such a small force to begin with.

For the record, I've only tied or gotten beaten with my GK's against other SM armies when not using an allied detachment.

I agree. Greynights lack hard ap outside of CC and they're ap4 flamers which I love can destroy every other army except that 3+ powerarmor
