Subject: MOBA WARS - Board Game // February 14h kickstarter
We will use this thread to update everyone about MOBA WARS, the new MOBA style (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) boardgame (obviously it's not online^^) in which you can recreate epic battles between two sides, fighting to destroy the enemy's power core.
MOBA WARS will be available on www.kickstarter.com February 14th
We will be updating on this forum, all kind of information.
What is and how was MOBA WARS born?
MOBA WARS is born with the idea to create a "bridge” between two gaming worlds, computer games and board games.
MOBA WARS is a new boardgame, set in Entroperyha, a world, in which powerful heroes that fight amongst each other to determine the fate of the kingdoms.
The game system will be the one that gives name to the game MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, obviously MOBA WARS isn't online, it's a board game).
For those of you who are unaware of this system, the players take part confronted on two factions, both have the same goal, to destroy the enemy's Core (their base). To do that, the heroes will be supported on both factions by some determined beings called minions. Each hero has a set of skills that makes them unique and different one from another.
Choose the 5 heroes that will accompany you on your adventure, learn their abilities and how they can help you to defeat your opponent at the Death Hills.
Heroes, Monsters, Minions and Structures
What novelties can MOBA WARS offer in regards to other board games?
MOBA WARS offers an attractive game system focused on attracting a new, young audience. If we analyse patterns of such successful games as DOTA 2, SMITE, League of Legends or Heroes of the Storm, we can observe that they are games with a similar length, from 20 to 60 minutes. They are very smooth games, with a high tactical factor condensed in a group of “heroes” that directs very few people per team (1 hero – 1 person).
MOBA WARS we understand that to maintain the essence of having two reduced teams of people for the same game is a plus. For this purpose we have developed an easy and full of rules and mechanics system to create games for 2 to 10 people.
The great difference from the other board games on the market are the mechanics included in MOBA WARS, that allow a fast learning of the game, infinite tactical possibilities and make you feel that you are really playing a MOBA videogame on a boardgame.
We can say, that the main novelty of MOBA WARS regarding of other board games, is that all the game development is focused on adapting to the new gaming trends and offering an alternative a 100% compatible with them.

Your prototype looks extremely cool! It was a little hard to follow what you'll be trying to fund with this campaign, so I'd like to see more on that. Although the future possibilities are interesting, I think you should focus on showing what you're offering here
I'll definitely be watching for more on this!

Unfortunately, because the stage is set the past few years, I do not think a kickstarter for a MOBA game without the miniatures will succeed, the standees will probably not cut it for most of backers.

We have studied the different launching possibilites and a great percentage of people have prefered to have an economical option for trying out such a large game. The miniature option is not totally discarded.
In order to fund MOBA WARS we need the support of great a many backers. With so many miniatures and different models the project would have a very high production cost. This would mean that many backers would think twice before investing their money.
If we manage to offer both options, the first being the "basic pack" for a price of 65€ (71,8822 USD), with all necessary items for playing and prove the game's high quality and the second being an "Upgrade pack" for 60€ (66,3628 USD), with 79 miniatures that would substitute the die-cut tokens, we could offer more purchase options to a broader range of people. In this manner, they wouldn't have to spend over 120-125€ in one go.
The aim of MOBA WARS is to create a solid gaming community, and we want to help in any possible way to offer a fun and competitive game.
Thanks, and greetings.

I had the chance to play a test game a couple of months ago and I thought it was quite good. It definitely has all the moves and game experience of a Moba type game. Other moba board games I also like, but do not quite give me the computer game feeling.
Since then I can really see the effort and changes the game has been through! Keep the good work up guys! Can't wait to see new 3d models and get to see the actual minis
I personally would pay for the miniatures upgrade pack. That being said, I love painting miniatures and making terrain (I spend almost more time doing that rather than actually playing) and i have played the game with standees and based on that, if the miniature pack wasn't available I surely would get the game anyways.
Let's see how the campaign goes. Keep up the good work guys!

Thanks bitemefanboy, are you Spanish?
If you are we can help you out both in Spanish and English.
However, this is an English spoken forum so any answers will be given in English in order not to be unfair to other members.
